Meditations of my Heart

Sep. 4, 2007 - Workin' Men

Work on making a couple of parking spaces at the church has begun! We're so thankful for the neat little church building the Lord enabled us to get, but it was obvious we would need to make some parking spaces. We've been able to rent a few spaces nearby, but today Steve and his dad rented a backhoe and truck to dig out the raised yard at the church to make some parking. We're hoping to be able to park two cars here when they're done. The kids and I took lunch over and they even got to try their hand at the backhoe! Ty thought this was better than Disney Land! Then they were delighted when Grandpa took them with him to the dump. Isn't that just the cutest little backhoe!!

Ty digging the dirt

Moving the dirt to the truck

Dumping dirt into the truck

Happy workers!

Someone else getting a chance to try the men's job.

particularly The Zephyr would do anything just to try a backhoe, a truck or a crane. They found their Uncle (my brother) so "cool" to have a heavy equipment to use in his work. He worked in Saitama for 17 years! Now he is in Sudan.

Such wonderful experience and lasting memories to give your kids!

Dec. 21, 2007 - HI!

Posted by RDFLEMING

I just 'found' your blog. Thank you for your posts. It encouraged my heart to read them. It must be hard to be in Japan over the 'holidays' that you are used to celebrating here...and I am sure the 'holidays' over there are very different. Maybe you could post about that. The dress for your daughter is beautiful and shows that you do indeed like to sew! I pray the Lord sends you special blessings for your faithfulness to Him, your husband and children, and it sounds like you have extended family there too! Well, just wanted to say Hi and leave a comment.
Grace and Peace,
Ruth

I was just reading some of my past posts when I noticed your reply to one of mine in August. I apologize for not getting to you sooner!! We're about 1.5-2 hours driving time from Yokota (which is really only 15 kilometers down 16). We love it here in Japan!! I bet we could share some wonderful places to visit. Have you done Fuji Safari Park? Its wonderful!! Best of luck with the church!!
