Meditations of my Heart

Oct. 2, 2009 - Sketches

The ladies of a nearby church were putting together a cookbook a while back, and asked me to do the sketches for the categories. They wanted it to reflect the fact that they were in Japan.  I eventually hope to revisit them and put color to them, as they're just pretty rough at the moment. But here they are.

Main Dishes

Bread

Breakfast

Ethnic Foods

Appetizers

Desserts

Good morning, Bethany :o)
It's weird to say that at 8 pm! Thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving a comment! How long have you been in Japan?
I'd love to try some of your Japanese cukes. We are not able to have a garden here (everything cooks in the ground), so we eat the grocery store variety of veggies -- not the same thing as home grown, and I just have this feeling that all the produce in Japan is nice and fresh! It sure does look good.
I loved the dress you made your daughter for her tea party. She has probably outgrown it by now. :o) If you still have the pattern, would you share the number?
Hope you have a blessed Lord's day!

Thanks for coming by my blog! Thank you, Leena, for liking my pics! :P
Sally, Good evening to you! ;D We've been here six and a half years now! Wow! Time flies! I've started turning gray since coming here! :P The produce here is excellent!! Expensive, but excellent! Even the juice is great, a reflection of the yummy fruit!

Thanks for liking the dress! Unfortunately, I don't have a pattern. I've had to teach myself to sew without patterns since coming here, as my ability to read and write in Japanese leaves much to be desired. And I suppose, by the time I get around to sewing, I just don't have the patience to wait for a pattern to be ordered from the States! Bri has long outgrown all the patterns I brought when we first came here! :D It was pretty simple, though, so if you're really interested, I think I could explain it!

Off to do school now!
Blessings!
Bethany
