~ Being continually blessed by the Lord ~

OK, here is the blessing I promised to write about.  If you've read this blog for any length of time, you know that we lost our microwave a few weeks back.  We had a toaster oven we pulled out, and we've been using that.  It's been good, and we've realized there are some things we like being warmed up in the toaster oven, it makes them crispy.  But, we did miss our microwave.  I did especially for my cookies.  I hardly ever eat homemade cookies cold, I usually always pop them in the microwave for a few seconds to make them warm and gooey again.  I missed it this week, but I handled it fine, because I knew the Lord was blessing us with, yes, a microwave.

This is how it happened.  As I had been writing about, and praying, and truly we all just gave up on having a microwave anytime soon.  Well, there is another blogger that I have started reading here on HSB from Idaho, and only lives about 45 minutes from us.    We have started to get to know each other a little bit through email and our blogs.  The name of her blog is cute, MI-OR-IDA-CO Minitaters.  Then one day she emails me that she thinks they have an extra microwave if we want it!    I'm thinking IF, of course I want it.    So after checking and arranging a time to get it, we got the microwave today.    Now, I am bummed to say, no pictures of her and me meeting like some of you other bloggers have done.    She had some sick little ones, and couldn't make it, but we are planning on trying to meet sometime.  We did meet her husband though, and he was very nice.  And this microwave is HUGE.  I'm serious.  She told me it was big, you could warm up a whole french bread in it.  But I didn't realize how big it would be.  Here are some pictures.

I tried to show how big it is, I don't know that I accomplished that.  So of course we have used it already, quite a bit.  Paulie had his nuggets cooked in it, I made my potatoes and Sarah made popcorn.  Which is cool, because it has a popcorn button.  Our other one was so old we didn't have buttons like that.

So you think them giving us this would be enough, right?  Nope they had to bless us even more.  They gave us a box of food!

When her husband handed us the box first, Paul and I both just looked dumbfounded.  He said, "Oh, it's just a little something."  A little something, yea.    We opened it when we got home, and we were so blessed.  I have gotten food from people before, and usually there are thing you just don't use it in.  But not this time.  Nope, everything they gave us we use, the exact things.  Like a couple of cans of diced tomatoes.  That's all I use.  I don't use crushed or whole, only the diced.  Or the can of refried beans and of course peanut butter.  Please don't think we wouldn't have been blessed if it wasn't what we normally use, we would have been.  I would use the crushed or whole tomatoes or whatever we got, of course.  I just think it's awesome how the Lord laid these exact things on their heart to give us.  It just shows how much the Lord knows us and wants to bless us.

I still have a hard time saying, it's great to be in such a hard situation because you see the Lord more in it.  I would prefer not to be in the hard situations and still see the Lord.  But, truly, if we could have gotten all these things ourselves, then how would I have seen the Lord in it, down to the exact can of tomatoes I use?  Mostly, we have been blessed by getting to meet and know this couple, and pray we will get to know them more and more.  It's a blessing that they gave us the microwave and a box of food.  I didn't know what I would make for dinner tomorrow, now I know.  Paul wants spaghetti, since we just got all the makings for it.  And truly, receiving this blessing has nudged me to make sure I'm always open to how the Lord might want me to give to others.  I pray I am always as opened as this couple was.  Thank you so much Jamiers.  I pray that the Lord blesses you abundantly as He has blessed us through you.  Thank you Lord for blessing us beyond what we could have ever thought.  Thank you for showing me how well You know me, and how You want to bless me in all areas.

OK, too busy to log-in, but i had to come and see what you were so excited about.

That is so cool that you got a microwave and food to boot. I'm sure the other couple is as blessed to give as you were to receive.

It's great to be reminded that God is in the details.

Continued Blessings to you sister,
tracy

Yep, if you had a microwave and a pantry full of food, you would not have seen the glory of the Lord like that this week! He does care about things like diced tomatoes!
Rejoicing with you,
Jenn

This must have been a weekend of Microwave blunders and blessings. Like I was telling you too at the time your microwave was dying I thought ours was too(hey its 10 years old) well lets just say the other day it freaked me out when it started making noises that it normally doesnt make, it brought me to the point (seriously & laughable at the same time) that I refused to stand in front of it for fear that it would be in use and explode. I think this humerouse event as well as my kids using it as a countdown to hit the deck when it would reach 0 after cooking something,(ya know like 5 4 3 (they run away at this time) 2 1 BOOOM. My husband took us to Sears on Saturday and bought me a new microwave. Its bigger than my old one but really light and because I am so used to my other one and where the buttons are, I keep getting this new one mixed up(for instance the old MW you pushed a button to open the door, the New one you pull.lol). But hey I didnt mean to take away from your blessing and I think its so great you were given one and from a fellow blogger buddy too!!

What a blessing! I have gotten food before, too - and had the same experience of canned beets and canned corn. To get stuff that a family can really use is a HUGE blessing! Isn't it true that the Lord says to give of your best... this family truly did. Enjoy your day.

PTL !!! What a blessing. One of the things I LOVE about our Lord is he gives not only what we need but he also gives our hearts desires. Things that we tuck away in our hearts and only the Lord knows what we love and makes us feel loved. I am so happy that this couple allowed themselves to give in a way that not all of us can give. When you see the microwave and eat the food blessings I pray you feel hugged and loved by your Lord. [ 0=
