I hope you all had a great Christmas day. Ours was beautiful. We were bummed we didn't get to our friends house on Christmas Eve, but I'm glad we didn't try it. There were over 60 accidents in our area, which is a lot for out here. The police were even saying on the news, "Why are people even trying to go out in weather likes this?" So though we were very sad, and truthfully I felt quite guilty for canceling, I know we did the right thing. I just hate disappointing people. But I know we all disappoint people in our lives at one time or another. And I know with all the accidents it was good to stay home.
Christmas day was a blessing. Usually the kids sleep until 8:00am or so, but this time, Sarah was up at 7:00am. I think it's because we didn't go to my parents house, where they usually get to open lots of gifts on Christmas Eve, and that makes it easier to sleep in the next day. But this time, all the presents were waiting until Christmas day, so the day started earlier. I drag out the morning as long as I can. Taking breaks between presents, drinking eggnog, getting a brunch type breakfast started. I dragged it out this year for about 2 hours. I thought that was pretty good. The kids enjoy it better too. They get to actually look and play with each gift. It helps them not to be so greedy with their gifts. Paulie got the Wii game he really wanted, well it's actually for Paulie and Sarah, but Paulie was the most excited. And Sarah was shocked with the gift we gave her, a new camera! Nothing big, a very simple one, but she is so excited. You can go to her blog and see all the pictures. Now she's learned how to put pictures in her blog, she is so excited about that. We had a great meal with the smoked turkey we received on Sunday. It was very juicy and yummy. I've never had smoked turkey before, none of us have, so it was a special treat. And to just see how much food the Lord blessed us with was so amazing. We just relaxed the rest of the day, enjoyed our presents and each other. It was truly a blessing.
Now today I will be cleaning up the house, taking down the tree and putting all the decorations away. Yep, we put up our stuff the day after Thanksgiving and take them down the day after Christmas. They have been up for a month, and we are all tired of them. Well, Paul and I are, the kids would keep them up all year. So that is my day today. Do my cleaning and take down all the decorations. Then start getting ready for Paul's birthday tomorrow. I hope you all had a great Christmas and I'll try to catch up on blogs soon.
OH, your day sounded GREAT. I am sorry about not seeing your friends on Christmas eve. ]0= Better safe than sorry. ((hugs)) Oh, yeah ! I forgot today is your busy day. I just got our tree up and will take it down Jan. 6th. My hubby's tradition. [0= It is official my MIL has passed family get togethers ( dinners ) over to me. This happened last night. I think I will have to take this on as a way to minister for our Lord and always be in prayer that somehow my hubby's family can see the TRUE God and pray they will seek him.
Blessings and ((hugs)) my SSiC
In Him<><

The latest post for you [0= I shared boxing day b/c I said I would and I wanted you to see that I DID make the perogies. [0;
Hi Joann! Sounds like you had a wonderful Christmas even if you didn't get out to visit. Santa brought us a WII so maybe we'll see one of your Mees? We have three so far: Ktas, Professor, & Viickisan, so if one comes to visit, you know where they are from! ;)
We just stayed in, too, then I went to work as always and my spouse and kids went and had dinner with my spouse's firefighter friends at the station. Hopefully, tomorrow we find out what my spouse has going on. I'll post when I know something.
It sounds like you all have been truly blessed and had a wonderful holiday. I'm so happy for you.
Do you write down God's provisions in a journal or something for your kids? It would be so cool to look back and see all the blessings you've been given.
Good for all of us to do, really.
I'm so glad to hear how God blessed you with a wonderful Christmas! He is so good!!!
I couldn't bear to take our tree down the day after Christmas. I love it so much! I should take it down though. We can't assemble one of Gigi's gifts until we take it down because there isn't room! I think it will come down earlier than usual this year. :*(
I ma glad to hear you did not go out of the house, it doesn't pay in weather like this.
I will have to go visit Sarah and comment on her new camera.
I am back to blogland,
((((Brazilian Hugs))))
Hey, you're a day after Christmas tree-taker-downer... me, too! How fun. I love celebrating and then cleaning up. No more clutter and lots of happy faces. Enjoy your day.
This blog is so I can share my journey with the Lord, my journey as a wife and mother, and my journey as a homeschool mom. I pray that you will see the Lord in my life through happy and sad times, and that this blog glorifies the Lord.
This is an award and tag free zone, thank you.
