Well, today started out interesting. First, we slept in later than I had planned. Then we had just got out of bed and realized that there was a mess made in the early morning we had to clean up. I won't go into what it exactly was, because I don't want to embarrass the child. Anyway, what a way to be woken up. After getting that all cleaned up, which took over 30 minutes, I had to get the pot roast in the crock-pot. Which at this point was a lot later than I had planned. Add to that, eating a quick breakfast, and then it was haircut time. I was cutting both Paul and Paulie's hair. Paulie's I've cut before, but I've never cut Paul's before. They both turned out great. I was really nervous cutting Paul's hair. But they both have the exact same haircut, so it was pretty easy. They both really like them. In the midst of the haircutting, I was doing laundry from the mess earlier, plus the showers after haircuts. So when it was my turn I thought I had let the water heater warm up enough, but I didn't. I was only half way through when the water turned ice cold. But as I waited a few minutes to let it warm up, and then just finished with cold water I truly was trying to keep my focus on the Lord. I kept thinking of Mary who went so long without water, and Lynn who has no water heater at all right now, and I knew I was blessed. But it just made the morning, which truly it was early afternoon at that point, that much more crazy. We finally relaxed a bit after all that. Paul had to go to work for about an hour, and the kids went outside to shovel the little bit of snow we had and play with a friend. I finished up cleaning the house and then just finally relaxed after a very hectic day. The pot roast turned out great, and we did have a delicious meal. We are now having a nice evening and just enjoying being together as a family.
I haven't been able to look anymore at curriculum today, obviously, but last night I was looking at Rod & Staff's English. I read some good reviews about it, and it seemed pretty good. I'll have to keep checking. Well that's been about it. I hope everyone had a great day.
I didn't even mention the cabinets, bag of pretzels, movies and books he took of shelves. uugghh. I use Rod and Staff for reading and love it. I figure if they are reading stories why not it be Bible ones;) We do extra reading stuff too, when we topic studies. I am sure I will be able to sleep in someday. Right now if it's past 6 am I am good-lol I am a night owl and my husband is a morning person. I try to make myself go to bed by 10:30ish

You cut hair?!? Wow! I won't touch anyone's hair in my family. Sometimes a tiny, tiny trim, but that's it. I know my limitations!!!! lol!! :) You should see the doll's hair that I use to butcher!! :) LO had a haircut today and he looks like such a little sweetie! :) Hopefully we will have hot water on Monday.
Ah, sounds like my day... although my husband is still waiting for his haircut. Geeze, I have to get "geared" up for that or I will cut it terribly! He has very straight thin hair... and it's blond. Every cut can be seen. Busy, busy , busy... hope you find rest in the midst.
This blog is so I can share my journey with the Lord, my journey as a wife and mother, and my journey as a homeschool mom. I pray that you will see the Lord in my life through happy and sad times, and that this blog glorifies the Lord.
