~ My Saturday ~

Posted in Family
We had a great time at our friends house last night.  We stayed way too late fellowshipping, it was fun.  And, yes, the cookies were a hit.  No one could even tell I substituted an egg.  I think I'm going to try making some substituting both eggs, just to see what it tastes like.  But we are getting real close with this family, and it's truly a blessing.  We seem to have quite a few things in common, and the kids get along great.  The boy is Paulie's age, and they have a great time together.  They have a little girl named Sarah also, and though she's only around 6yo, my Sarah plays very nicely with her.  They play dolls or girls video games, its really sweet to watch.  Especially since Sarah doesn't have a little sister to play with, it's fun for her.  So though it was a late night, it was great.

Today we've been pretty mellow.  Paul's back has really never got better from a few weeks ago.  He really hasn't been resting it or stretching it much since he hurt it.  So we decided this weekend he will rest.  We didn't go to church tonight, and he's been on the floor with his legs raised most of the day.  He has heat on it, has taken some medicine and he'll stretch it out in a bit.  Tomorrow, though we were invited back over to our friends house to watch a football game we won't get, but we'll be staying home so he can have another day to rest it.  I really think it will feel better soon.  He just really needs a couple of days of rest like this.

I made soft shelled tacos for dinner, and picked up a couple of snacks at the store.  I don't know about you, but in our house, whenever we don't feel good like this, we like sugary, snacky food.  So I got some for my hubby to enjoy.

Other than that, not much going on.  We didn't get anymore snow today, thankfully.  Though it was cloudy and overcast.  We all just stayed inside, except when I ran to the store.  I do want to go to the library soon, maybe this coming week.  We haven't gone since before Christmas, so we'll probably make it soon.  I was thinking of going today with Paul, because he hasn't seen our library yet.  But not with his need to rest his back, obviously we couldn't go.  Maybe next weekend.

So I guess that's about it.  I've been on the computer playing most of the day, I should probably get off and do some crafts or reading.  Though I'm sure I'll be back on again later.

OK, i'm too lazy to log in.

Sounds like you've had a nice day. I hope Paul's back is well soon. Just a little kink can be so painful and a pulled muscle is really a bear.

I can't tell a difference with substituting an egg until i get up to needing about 4 eggs in one recipe. Then it is a little different, but still good.

Have a good Sunday,
tracy

Make sure you add his back to SoCalVal's prayer list so he gets all the prayer he can get.

So glad you gad a good night. Iget to go to church this Sunday for the first time is weeks now that everyone is well and there is not a storm keeping us home.

So I will raise my hands a little higher for you today!

Because of Jesus, Bobbie

I am so glad you could rest and your husband too. Sometimes we just have to say no even though we'd rather do something else. And I am thankful you have made some new friends. See how blessed you are from this move! It's exciting to see.

I am glad that you had such a fun time with your friends and that the dessert turned out so well. That is too bad about Paul's back. Hopefully all of the rest will do the trick. Have a great day!

Snacks can be a lift, especially when we are feeling down and feeling deprived. My oldest has been begging for me to buy some Nature's Path toaster pastries (like Pop Tarts, only organic) for months but they've not been on sale ($3.99 a box - ouch!). Finally, they went on sale last week so I bought a few boxes. Let me just say I have two very happy kids on my hands right now.
