~ Did I stay online or finish my scarf? ~

Well, the answer is, both.  If you remember yesterday I was talking about the fact that I was spending too much time surfing the internet.  I wanted to get off-line yesterday and either read or do a craft, like finishing my scarf.  So this is how I did both.  I really want to start reading the bible more, and obviously when I'm doing crafts or something like that, I can't read at the same time.  So I found this site that has the audio bible on it.    So while I did my crocheting, finishing my scarf, I also listened to the Word being read.  I like this one because its simple reading, no music or anything.  That's what I was looking for.  It turned out to be a great afternoon, and I did finish my scarf, see...

I like how it turned out.  I made it a little longer than I wanted so that if I have to wash it, and it shrinks a little, I won't loose the length.  I've already worn it quite a bit today.

Today was a good, but busy day.  We finished our school on time in the afternoon.  Then we were going to go our homeschool group's play time, after that stop by the library and then Wal-mart.  Well, this morning, after Paul left, I noticed that the area his truck had been parked in, there was some yellow liquid on the driveway.  Ugh, his truck was leaking something.  So I had to call him at work, he checked it on his break, and found his radiator was very low, and possibly leaking.  He was already getting off of work 2 hours early to get his license updated and a couple of other things, so now he had to get to the store for his truck issue.  But, because the radiator is leaking, and its so bitterly cold out here (our high was 9, we woke up to -18 this morning ), we felt better if I followed him in case there was any problems.  So we gave up the playtime, met Paul at his work and followed him until he could get some things for his truck.  We still aren't sure if there is a leak or what, but its still running, so that's good.  But its still not heating up as much, so we will have to get it looked at eventually.  We did get to the store afterward.  Then this evening the ladies from the bible study I go to got together for a pizza party tonight.  It was a great time of fellowship and just getting to know the other ladies.  I don't know that I'll continue with the next 12 weeks.  They are doing a DVD type lesson, and I'm not really interested in that.  But it was still great to just get together with some ladies, and the pizza was very yummy.

My dh listens to an online Bible reading too. He reads along while he is listening (which I think is funny but anyway LOL) Me, I prefer the silent, old fashioned way of reading my Bible. You found this wonderful way to kill two birds with one stone just in time to start another scarf. That is so cool AND you are being a blessing to others AND you can teach Sarah.
I hope Paul's vehicle gets sorted out.

Sounds like a perfect opportunity to minister! I think you will be surprised at how much joy you will find in doing that. Although, I've tried to teach several people to crochet and it is very frustrating to me. Let me know if you find a good technique for showing her how to hold her hands. No one seems to be able to copy my hold.
Also, if you are interested, here is a web site I use to listen to biblical teaching online: http://www.oneplace.com/
Revive Our Hearts and Grace to You are my favorites. I like to have something like that when I am working with my hands too.

It's hard to reach out to people when we spend so much time at home. I know when I am out, I am only thinking of getting home. What a circle we can get caught up in. Your scarf is pretty, those would make lovely gifts

I think this is why I've been so busy at home blessing others, to reach out as I have felt led. It is out of my comfort zone too. I am proud of you.

Great job on the scarf and thinking ahead about washing & shrinkage. I can't crochet or knit worth anything, I'm either too loose or too tight, so what you do is a gift. Great idea about the multi-tasking too and listening to the Bible on audio. Wishing you the best with your new friend and pray that you can really minister to her and be His help to her.

I hope Paul's truck will not be a financial burden for you guys. Wow, you are very cold there! Our high today is going to be 18 degrees and the low 4.
Your scarf is very nice, I like how you have it around the neck.
We do listen to the bible on tapes, we love it. Because I didn't grow reading, listing to books and the bible on tape is a blessing to me.
I can't stand it when churches opt it to doing studies with peoples ideas on DVD's.
Better go for now, I will come back later.
Love you.
