Posted in Ramblings
I'm a little bummed today.  I have lots of free time today, and I don't have the software I ordered, Paint Shop Pro.    I have been keeping busy though.  I worked on my crocheted scarf I'm making for a friend of mine.  I've kept up on blogs, and I've been on my 'nook' at the homeschool lounge.  We are watching the Daytona 500.  Not that we are big nascar fans, but we are between sports right now.    Football is over, and baseball doesn't start for a month.  So we find what sports are on, and watch those.  I'm also watching track & field, Paulie likes it.  One of his favorite games on Wii is the Olympics.  So he likes watching 'real' track and field competitions.  Which is fine, I like watching them too.  (Can you tell I'm bored by my ramblings? )

It's sunny out, but only in the low 20's.  Not much to do outside, since there's still lots of snow.  Plus, it's still a bit to cold out to be outside 'just because'.  I think everyone is a bit bored today.  It seems like this time of year is like that.  Does anyone else ever deal with that?  I doubt those in sunny, southern states do, but here in Idaho, where it's cold and snow on the ground, it can get down right boring.  It's been winter, long enough.  We've all had the fun of playing outside in the snow and winter itself, but now....well it's just all tiring.  It's a bit of a pain to have to get bundled up just to go outside.  You can't just go for a walk around the block or even in our back yard (so much snow I can't see hardly any sidewalk, and no part of grass in our backyard).  We can't even just open the windows to let some cool air in, because truly it's not cool, it's cold.    I did open the front door for a bit last night before we went to bed.  It just seemed to be getting stuffy in here, and if the kids get too hot in the middle of the night, they can wake up not feeling good.  So I opened the door for a few minutes and cooled off the house.  Everyone was fine.

The kids are all happy that my sister is coming out next week to spend the night (I wrote about it at my other blog).  They found out a few days ago that their 18yo cousin (my sister's daughter) is coming out too to spend the night also.  Oh, they are so very happy about that.  They miss their cousin so much.  Even though she's 18, she is very sweet and loves playing with our kids.  They just enjoy her so much.  She decided to give up a day of babysitting (she babysits while she's homeschooling her last year of HS, though she's gone to PS her whole life), just so she could come here and spend time with the kids on Wednesday.  They won't be out here until late morning/early afternoon so we should be able to get a little bit of schooling done before they get here.  Well, we'll see how much concentration I can get from them.  They will probably come here early, and we'll spend part of the day running around together.  Whatever we do or don't do, it will be a great time.

Well, that is the update of my day.  I hope you are all having a great day and weekend.

I think we all are tired of winter. Even when the sun shines its still cold out and the little ones could catch a cold if out too long. "Cabin Fever" lurks around the corners of our homes. It's not too long before spring though. (-:

I'm sorry you don't have your paint shop yet. Yes, i am very tired of gray skies, the other day was very sunny over here, so I set by a window and did my crochet, it felt so good. Yep when you live in the south, you never think of gray skies, and you feel great overall, I think that the sun has a lot to do with our bodies.
I had a nice weekend too, yesterday was very busy, I didn't have any time at all for blogging.
Love and prayers,
Katia

Spring Fever! We've got it here too! It's cold and getting colder. It's snowing now, but nothing is sticking, and we won't get enough to do anything fun in it. If we could get one more big snow, I'd be happy, but since that's not likely, I'm ready for spring to come!!! I'm looking forward to digging in the earth, and daffodils, and walks in the woods. Signs of life!

Enjoy your new toys! :)

Oh yes, I'm really ready for spring too! I absolutley love the change of seasons, but right around this time of year, the blahs set in and it seems to take extra extra effort to motivate myself. Hang in there, springtime is coming!

Blessings, Melissa

We definitely feel the same as you this time of year in Colorado.

And add to it the fact that all my kids are 5 and under, so I'm the one who has to bundle everyone up (my 5-year-old can do most of it himself), and you can imagine that I'm not really up for going outside at all. But...the kids have played outside 2 different days in the last 5 days because it got up to 35-40 degrees (heat wave!). And the snow has been melting a lot. Of course, as I type this it is 20 degrees out and snowing like crazy. I guess the heat wave is over ;o)
