~ Baseball and bar-b-que on a beautiful day ~

Posted in Family
We had such a great day today.  The weather was so nice.  We had gone grocery shopping last night, and it had started snowing.    We were all so bummed.  We woke up this morning to a very wet snow on the ground.  Not much, but enough to cover the driveway and sidewalk so the kids would eventually have to shovel them.  I gave my guys hair cuts this morning, and then Paul and I had our fantasy baseball draft this morning.    It's free on Yahoo, and it's just for fun.  We have a great time, joining the same league and 'playing' against each other.  It's always fun in the draft, picking our players and seeing what kind of team we can put together.  We've done fantasy football teams for 2 years, and have always come in the top 3.  Paul has done baseball for a while, I just started last year.  The league was too big, and I didn't do well.  This year we are in a smaller league, and I think I put together a pretty good team.  So baseball was definitely on our mind today.

Then, the kids looked out the window, and all the snow on the driveway and sidewalk had melted.    They were so happy they didn't have to shovel.  The sun came out and we warmed up to around 38 in the shade, which was probably in the mid 40's in the sun, it was gorgeous.  So in the late afternoon we all went outside, with just light sweatshirts or jackets on, and we grilled.  Our first grill of the season, and in our new house.  It was so beautiful out.  We played some basketball with the kids with the new basketball we got them at the store yesterday.  But mainly we just stayed outside to enjoy the weather as much as possible.  We even had our windows open for a bit.

We are now getting ready to head out the door and go to church.  I hope you all had a great day, and are enjoying your weekend.  Oh, here are a couple of pictures of our day.

The football sounds like a lot of fun and so did the rest of the day. If you want some snow I would gladly give you some of the snow on our ground.LOL Take care.

You look like you have a fair bit of snow there too. I think we might be pretty close to even on the amount. I can't see my driveway though--the snow is still packed on it--but it is gravel anyway, not concrete.

We had a beautiful day here too! Makes me think Spring is just around the corner.

Blessings,
Karen

Oh, I could go for a BBQ too. Too bad our grill was not fit to bring to this house from the old. I am glad you enjoyed your day together. And yes, pray for the car. Next Sunday we will get it for a test drive of two weeks!

I think it is so funny when you say that it was a beautiful day and you had a bar-b-que, when it was in the mid 40's and there is a few feet of snow on the lawn in your pictures! LOL!!!

But I totally understand because we do exactly the same thing in Colorado. Just a few days ago the kids were riding their bikes on the porch and it was 38 degrees. We felt like it was a heat wave. My friend in Georgia can't understand how we can be out playing and saying it's a beautiful day when it is in the 40's.

I am glad you had such a nice, early spring day. It looks like it was fun!

We are supposed to get more bad weather tomorrow. I have been singing lately "Oh where is my sunshine?" LOL ;)
