It looks like it's definite that we have to give up our laptop. My friend said that is the power supply, which is loose so it's not registering that it's plugged in. And because of that it's not charging the battery. I use to be able to wiggle it a little, or move it 'just' right and it would start charging. But that doesn't work anymore. I'm hoping to be able to get it into a local computer shop for a free estimate. But, unless they open it up, see that the power box is just a little loose, tighten it and say, "Oh it just needed to be tightened" and then only charge me $10 or $20, it won't be fixed anytime soon.
It's been quite an adjustment for me without the laptop, well, and adjustment for all of us. I have to plan my time now. All four of us use the computer, the kids even more now. And in the fall it will be even more. So four people on one computer, lets just say, it's not fun. I do still keep praying that we'll be able to get the laptop fixed, but I have accepted that we probably won't anytime soon. So please don't take it personal when I don't leave as many comments or stop by so much on cbox's. I don't know if I'll be putting as many blog entries out, I'll just have to wait and see how it goes.
On Thursday our water heater started going. We called our landlord and he had a plumber come out Thursday night to look at it. It was pretty well shot, so the landlord had him put in a new one. The plumber couldn't get it put in until Friday morning, but I was blessed it was in the morning. So on Friday we were without water for about 2 hours. It didn't go too bad, since we were aware of it, we planned for things, and it went fine. It's good to have a new water heater, and it might even help our electric bill. It's an electric water heater, and it's in the wall of Sarah's bedroom closet, behind the wall. So it's not easy to get to. We have to empty her closet and unscrew the screws that is holding the wall up, and take the wall off. We never looked at it when we moved it, and the plumber said they had it turned up to the hottest setting. We knew it got very hot, but never really thought about it. So now that the new one is set to a more normal range, it should help out with our bill.
I have finished my first filet crochet bookmark. I will say, after reading up on what filet crochet is, I don't really consider this design an actual filet crochet, but I like it a lot. It was very easy to do, though I didn't like the tail. I'll do that different next time. But here is the picture I promised, what do you think?
I thought it turned out o.k. I usually use flickr to post pictures on my blog, but I've signed up for a photobucket account. At first I didn't like it, because it wasn't resizing like I told it too. But I got it to work, so I'll keep trying it for a bit. I like the ease of flickr, so I'm not sure I'll stick with photobucket, but I like to try new things, so I'll keep playing with it for a while.
I think now you have been caught up on my past couple of days. I hope you all are having a blessed weekend. I know we'll get the computer schedule worked out soon, and I'll be able to blog and visit more. Be patient with me. Thanks.
Yep, I feel your pain. 5 people here share one computer. It helps that my kids are younger and I can limit their playtime on it. Your bookmark looks great. Do you know how to make wash cloths? I think I want to learn how.

Hey JoAnn, I am sorry about the laptop going out on you :( I do hope you can get it fixed with some easy little jiggle or something. I understand about the whole "time" issue with the computer. Four keep me going so much that I hardly have time to get on to blog. I do wish I could do it every day. I am so tired tonight from the conference (residual fatigue) and the kids are tired too. Poor Zach fell asleep on the floor tonight. There is no place like home! blessings for your week, Tammy
I like your bookmark. You will have to give me some more help with this kind of crochet.
I hope your laptop will be fixed very soon. for your shoulder's sake. Yes, I know what's like to have to share one computer with DD and DH. Don't worry about comments, I know for me its been very hard to blog here lately.
((((hugs))))

I need a laptop. I keep thinking that I could probably do much more interactive stuff with the kids if I had the computer accessible on the kitchen table - where we do school. I hope you can adjust with out it for now... maybe a new one will come your way.
I love your blog! I'm really going to miss it. Alas, I'm leaving the homeschool blogging world as we're no longer homeschooling. Just wanted to say thanks for the wonderful friendship and I'll miss you.
Very nice bookmark! I don't even know what filet crochet is. But that is a nice bookmark. Sorry about the computer troubles. Maybe you will find it to be a blessing in the long run.
This blog is so I can share my journey with the Lord, my journey as a wife and mother, and my journey as a homeschool mom. I pray that you will see the Lord in my life through happy and sad times, and that this blog glorifies the Lord.
This is an award and tag free zone, thank you.
