I'm actually blogging a little earlier today. We have homeschool playgroup this afternoon, and the kids worked especially hard to finish their lessons early, which they have done. So I have some extra time before playgroup that I can blog a bit.
If you haven't noticed I have changed the name of my blog and the 'about me' part. I feel like this is my main blog now, and I really wanted a title more about what I feel life is, a journey. I feel like all aspects of my life are a journey, especially my walk with the Lord. So the reason for the title change.
Yesterday was good, but busy as usual. We had our cleaning day, but got school started earlier than normal, and it worked out well. I was suppose to go shopping for Paulie's birthday presents last night, but just didn't feel like going. I was just to tired. So Sarah and I will go this evening after dinner. I usually go by myself, but she asked if she could go with, so we will go together tonight. The only hard part is we are getting him a bike from Wal-mart. And usually Wal-mart already has the bikes put together, which is a great help. But we don't really have any room to hide an assembled bike. I'm hoping it fits in our closet, if not, I'm not sure. I would try setting it in the garage with a blanket or something over it, but Paulie is so observant. He notices EVERYTHING, and I do mean everything. He will notice when the icons are different on the desktop, just by walking by and glancing at the computer. So he would notice something big and bulky in the garage. I guess if we absolutely had to, we could give it to him early if there is no where to hide it, and then save the rest of the gifts for his birthday. I guess we'll wait and see how it goes when we get the bike home tonight.
We are going to take him out to lunch on Sunday afternoon at his favorite restaurant. His birthday isn't actually until Monday, but we have our monthly homeschool meeting that night. Now please know we would skip that meeting in an instant for our child, but, he really enjoys those meetings because the kids get together and play. So it's a great birthday treat for him to go and bring cupcakes for everyone. We'll take him to lunch on Sunday, and if I can keep the bike hidden, he will open it then. He's getting some smaller gifts too, so we'll save those for his real birthday regardless.
I will be making cupcakes on Saturday. He wants white cupcakes with chocolate frosting and we are putting sprinkles on top. I haven't decided if I'm making one box or two. We are bringing some to the homeschool group on Monday night, but we only need to bring 8-10, and we don't eat that many here, so one box might do. I don't want lots of cupcakes sitting around the house.
Well, I guess that's it for now. I will have pictures whenever he starts opening things. We are off to playgroup. Have a blessed day.
I'd make two, but then I love cupcakes!!! I am glad that I noticed your blog name change before you mentioned it. Perhaps I am as observant as Paulie? (lol) Have fun shopping. Do you have a neighbor who would hide if for you?
