Paulie just couldn't wait to get outside today to try his bike again. He was quite bummed to realize we had to do school work first, and that it wasn't warm enough at 8:30am. But after school and lunch were done, we headed out side. He hops on his bike, with me just holding onto his seat, and takes off. I could barely keep up with him. I tried running along side of him to hold onto him, that lasted less than a few minutes. I just sort of stopped for a second, and he kept going. I haven't had to help him since. What's funny is he kept saying he wasn't ready for me to let go, but I think the boy in him that wanted to go faster than mom could run pushed that thought aside. So here he is, my baby boy, for the first time riding a bike all on his own.
He is still outside riding his bike, it's been over an hour now. I see him going faster and faster, and being more and more confident. I'm so proud of him. Dad is a little bummed he missed it, but we called him right away and of course we have the pictures.
Other than the bike stuff, not much else going on. Had a bit of a rough morning, but things are much better now. I have chicken breasts in the crock-pot, and a baseball game on. I need to work on my bible study for tomorrow night, but truly I don't want to. We went to the library the other day and I got lots of books on crocheting, with different patterns and such in it that I want to look at. Plus, I want to start a bookmark for me now. I'm giving the blue one I made to Paulie, on his actual birthday. So I really just want to play right now, but I should do the study. Tomorrow I don't know if I'll have time during the day to do it, so I really should do it now. I don't like waiting until the day of the study to do it. I usually try to get it done on the weekend, but I never got to it this past weekend.
So I guess I should get off the computer and start working on it. Of course I need to read some blogs first.
I like your new name! And good job on the slide show (but I'm not seeing the other two pictures - but that is probably me). Your son sure looks like he is enjoying his new bike. Our Ladybug always pretends her bike is a horse - everything is horses around here. lol
I am so sorry I haven't been around as much.
I'm so happy for Paulie.
I like your new blog name.
I am going to go check this site you made the slide show from it. I wish everyone on HSB used it. It was so easy to view it from my friends page. You know for us dial-up people ;)
((((hugs))))

That is just the best news about Paulie. I say that because it gives me hope for my son, 10 year old, who won't even try to ride a bike! Honestly! Have a great day. We are off to Conner Prairie again.

Hi joann. Sorry that I haven't visited lately. I have not had time to blog or read blogs. That is great able Paulie learning so quickly on the bike. That will mean less skinned knees:). Have a great day.

JoAnn, he looks so grown up on that bike. I'm sorry Paul had to miss it. Looks like you're finally enjoying the weather. It's snowing here again today and the kids are upset because they wanted to go outside and play ball. Can't afford colds right now (too busy) so they are waiting not so patiently for warmer weather.
This blog is so I can share my journey with the Lord, my journey as a wife and mother, and my journey as a homeschool mom. I pray that you will see the Lord in my life through happy and sad times, and that this blog glorifies the Lord.
This is an award and tag free zone, thank you.
