We got our money from the government today! I'm quite excited about that. I've already looked at prices for push lawn mowers, and used dryers. I found one place that sells used appliances, and we'll probably go there, but I wanted to wait for Paul to get home. Most of the money is 'gone' already, but Paul keeps saying we are going to get the laptop fixed. I still don't want to get my hopes up. Right now we're trying to decide if we should send it back to Gateway and pay them to fix it, or take it to the local computer repair shop in town and have them fix it. Sending it to Gateway would be the best, but you know what's holding me back? Lack of patience, if we do get it fixed I want it now. Isn't that bad or what? You know what it's like, you are fine without 'it' (whatever it is), but as soon as you know you'll get it soon it's so hard to wait. But I do think the best thing to do is send it back to Gateway. They'll send the proper packaging material to us and everything. So once we sit down tonight and go through our list of needs I'll know for sure. We have to pay before we send it out, so once I start the order it will be official. I'll let you know what we decide.
Bible study was good last night and we're finally getting some spring weather again. We have to go grocery shopping tonight, plus dryer and mower shopping, though that might wait until sometime this weekend, I'm not sure. I know we have to get some clothes too, plus take our old washer (from the fall when it broke) and the old dryer (if we get a new one) to the garbage dump. Plus, we're having a friend over on Sunday, probably, to watch some basketball. It's Paul's friend and they really like watching it together. So I guess it's a bit of a busy weekend.
Well, Paul just called, and he got off of work early and he's on his way home. So I need to get going, he's taking us out to dinner.
Yeah, I heard those checks were coming early... not soon enough for us though. With the rise in gas and the distance to my husband's work doubling, I don't know how we'll spend any on "stuff". It's amazing living in CA - that is why we are getting ready to move to CO... we only need a job now! Help me pray?
Good to hear you were blessed with your tax relief. We won't be getting ours for a while, b/c I filed our taxes online back in March and never went back to the site to check on them. I kept checking my bank to see if it had been direct deposited into our account. Well, after a little over a month I decided I better check it out. Our return had been rejected, and the company that we did our taxes through didn't even let us know. So I resent them, changing nothing, and now they have been accepted. What a headache.
I'm now whining....I want a laptop! I know what it's like to want something. I would like a laptop, just for the simple fact that I can't ever blog any more b/c Ashley is always on this computer doing school. ;o( Maybe someday soon.
Hope you have a blessed weekend with your friends. Thank you for your prayers & support while I've been away. I'm going to try to keep up to date with everyone a little better. Your little Sarah is so precious. Such an encourager like her momma!
Hey - I don't think I've been over to your blog before. How are things? How's that Cubs Cards series going? We beat the Brewers nicely last night... back-to-back-to-back HRs from our big 3!
Anyway - I thought the checks weren't being mailed till May 9th. We haven't decided what to do with ours. Probably dentist and optical visits - boring!
Right! I remember now that the direct deposits were first. I know my blog name doesn't really go with the scotschooler theme - I keep meaning to change it but then it might confuse all my previous friends!!
Hi there, I wanted to thank you for the birthday comment. Thanks!!
Yeah, I had to make my own birthday cake cause hubby and teen son had to work and for some reason (maybe cause it was for mom) the kids didn't want to cook. LOL Oh well!! next time I think I will have dairy queen or walmarts bakery bake my cake. :)
Thanks again!!
I hear ya on money going to be already spent from the gov't, I am paying off bills and putting the kids in some activities they really want to do this year. We haven't received ours yet probably because alphabetical order.
How was the appliance shopping? Today I used our riding mower for the first time (it's new to us). It was fun :). I will be so happy when we get our check, but I think we're a bit down the road still. We paid, so I'm not sure if we'll get a check or direct deposit. I can't remember if we had direct deposit info given. I'm sure hoping so!

Good morning friend :)
I miss being here, sorry I didn't make it at all last week, it turned out to be a very busy week from Sunday - Friday.
I know what you are saying about the Tax return, and the other tax relief, ours is going into our credit card, nothing left, but I'm praising the Lord for it will be done paying for our move from two years ago..
I'm sorry about your laptop.
I hope you all had lots of fun with your friend yesterday.
Love and prayers,
Katia
This blog is so I can share my journey with the Lord, my journey as a wife and mother, and my journey as a homeschool mom. I pray that you will see the Lord in my life through happy and sad times, and that this blog glorifies the Lord.
This is an award and tag free zone, thank you.
