We've had a good day. We slept in a bit this morning, which was nice. Then we had a break in the rain we've been having so Paul had a chance to mow the lawn and do work outside. While he worked outside I worked inside cleaning the house so I wouldn't have to do it tomorrow. We made dinner together with Paul cooking brauts (sp?) and I made potatoes and corn. It was all very yummy. The kids got to play outside all day, and that was a blessing. We really haven't been able to do much outside with all the rain and we are suppose to get more tomorrow. So this was our chance to get outside and enjoy the weather.
Tomorrow we are going to a new friends house for dinner. They are another homeschool family that goes to our church too. They have a son Paulie's age, and a younger daughter. We have slowly been getting to know them and tried to get together before with them but it fell through. Though I'm always a bit nervous getting together with new people, I am looking forward to it also. Plus it's nice to be spending the holiday with others and enjoying a nice cookout. This time I got off easy on what we will bring. She said we only needed to bring a lettuce salad. So I went out today and got the fixings for the salad, lettuce, tomato, carrots, cucumber and croutons. I think that will be a good salad. That is our Memorial Day plans, I let you know how it goes.
I guess that is about it. Not a whole lot to blog about today. Oh, I did get the folders I need for the portfolio thing I'm making with the kids school stuff. So hopefully I will have something put together this coming week. And when I get it together I'll take some pictures of it to share with you. I hope you a have a blessed Memorial Day.
Hope your day was great. I had to work, while the family went 4-wheeling. I had a good day though. Now I'm heading to the store to get the chemicals for our pool. Time to open it up. It got 80 today here. Whew! Have a great week!
It sounds like you had a GREAT week end. How did your time with your new friends go ? I hope it was a great time. I really look forward to seeing your kids portfollios.
This blog is so I can share my journey with the Lord, my journey as a wife and mother, and my journey as a homeschool mom. I pray that you will see the Lord in my life through happy and sad times, and that this blog glorifies the Lord.
This is an award and tag free zone, thank you.
