Interesting title, huh? As most of you know this is a second blog for me. On my first blog I reached 1000 comments a long time ago. But on this one, I just noticed, I'm about 30 comments away. So I'm trying to decide if I want to give out a little gift to my 1000th commenter. As I'm sure I still have another week or so before I have to make that decision, I though I would let you know how close I am. Even though it's the second time, it's still so fun.
Sarah has a cold this weekend. Paulie had it last weekend, and I missed church, and now Sarah has it this weekend, and I might miss church. But we have our homeschool graduation tomorrow night which is swimming and such. We all really want to make sure she's up for that, so today we are being mellow and her and I might stay home tonight. Then prayerfully tomorrow she'll be feeling better. When Paulie had it last weekend, it was horrible on Saturday but so much better on Sunday. The biggest problem is every time she lays down she starts coughing real bad. We have her propped up in bed at night, and I was giving her some cough medicine, but she must be like me. I can only take cold medicine once, maybe twice, the it just stops working for me. That's what happened last night. We had given her medicine on Thursday night, and it helped her sleep. I gave it to her twice in the night. But last night I gave it to her and it didn't help at all. She's doing o.k., just tired. She did play outside for a bit today, because it's finally a beautiful day out, but she's inside now. She's going to have some tea and hopefully that will help some more.
And now onto the third part of my title, potlucks. We are all helping out with VBS this year at our church. Our VBS isn't huge by any means, I've read about bigger ones, ours has about 200 kids. But for out here it's pretty big. So there are a lot of volunteers, and we all haven't had a chance to meet each other. So the woman running the VBS decided to have a potluck dinner last night for us all to have a chance to meet. Oh my, it was great. Of course, not all the volunteers made it, but a good handful of us did. There was such yummy food, and good conversation. There were some people we already knew there, but I made myself talk to a few ladies I didn't know. The potluck started around 6:00ish, and by 7:30ish most people were starting to leave, maybe around 8:00. Anyway there were a few of us who stayed. Paul and I, three other couples and a single mom. All the kids were off playing somewhere and us adults where in the living room talking. It was such a great time. There is no way I'm going to give it justice, but I'll try. We laughed, we talked about the Lord, we laughed, we got to know each other, we laughed, we opened up our lives to each other. And if I didn't mention it, we laughed. As I was thinking about it when we all decided we should get going since it was 10:15pm, I realized we haven't had that kind of fellowship, true in each others lives fellowship, for almost 5 years. It has been sorely missed in our lives, and I'm so blessed we are back into some great fellowship. It reminded me of one of the last parties we were at in Illinois, so very sweet. Everyone were so sweet and truly made me feel like close friends. It's still such a sweet memory for me. During all the kids playing, Sarah was outside a lot, without a jacket. It wasn't cold or anything, but it wasn't warm either. That obviously didn't help with her cold.
We have ended the study we were doing in the Woman's bible study I was going too, and it was such a sweet night Thursday night. We'll start another study in a couple of weeks. I want to give it justice plus I have some pictures to share, so I won't write about it in this entry. I'll do another one some other time. Well, we'll see if we make it to church tonight. We are looking forward to tomorrow. I'll try to remember to get pictures I can share. I hope you are all having a blessed weekend.
Sorry, I have not been around the last few days. I am catching up with you and am sorry you guys have been sick. We've had bronchitis around here since April. Ryan has it now. Have a great week.

This blog is so I can share my journey with the Lord, my journey as a wife and mother, and my journey as a homeschool mom. I pray that you will see the Lord in my life through happy and sad times, and that this blog glorifies the Lord.
