~ Our past few days ~

Posted in Family
We've had a good week.  I still haven't finished everything on my 'list' but things are getting done.  I will have to share my list sometime, just not today.  It will make this entry way to long, and you know I make long entries without lists.

I think the biggest thing that has happened since I last blogged is that I have finally started working on our homeschool groups website.    I am so excited.  It's my first time I have ever put together a website and I'm having a blast.  The learning curve is easy with some things but harder with others.  I would guess I have it about 1/2 finished, well with the first draft anyway.  It will be something I have to work on monthly, adding the monthly newsletter and calendar, things like that.  And knowing me, once its actually published I'm sure there will be things I want to change with it.  I so wish I could share it with you all, but like I said, to much local information on it.  So that's not possible.  But I am extremely excited and I'm having a great time.

So that has taken up a lot of my time, but I've also been reading my library books and I wish I could say I've been playing the keyboards, but I haven't.  And when I say 'play' I mean that very loosely.  Maybe next week.  Church has been going great and next month looks to be a busy month with our church.  We have a big park service coming up that Paul and I will probably help with the set up and tear down of things.  Then the following week we will be in the new sanctuary that is being built onto our church.  It's bigger than our current one, and it looks great so far.  With Paul being an usher, I'm sure he'll be a bit more busy with those things.  My parents came by for a visit yesterday, it was my mom's birthday.  It was a quick time, but it was good to see them.  Then last night after service we came home and all four of us sat outside for a bit.  I know that might seem like an odd thing to add but it was just so much fun.  We enjoyed the cooling evening air, then Paul and the kids played some basketball.  It was just a sweet time that I wanted recorded.

But today, that was our big plans for the week.  My dad wanted to give the kids something fun to do, so he gave us money for lunch and to go to the local zoo!!    We have been wanting to go to the zoo for so long.  Now, coming from Chicago zoo's I knew not to get my hopes up, but this zoo was very nice.  They didn't have lots of 'big' animals, but they had some very interesting ones.  Plus it was small and cozy, and you could get up close and see all the animals pretty easy.  Also, it's not crowded, which is one of the best things.  The only animals that were hiding were the lions and snow leopards, and truly with the warmth of the day, I don't blame them.  We are hoping to go back in the fall and they should be out by then.  The kids had a great time, and I got lots of pictures.  I figured a slideshow would be the easiest way to share the pictures, so here they are.

Our time at the zoo.

So...you are the web master? Do you do the designing? Is it harder than doing the template for your blog?

My website is Microsoft Frontpage. It works OK for me, but now I want to add some PayPal stuff, and I have to mess with the HTML. Yikes! It doesn't look anything like the HSB HTML template!

I'm mucking around--I know just enough to be dangerous on my website. But I don't want a web master, because I like to tweak and add and update when I want to and not be dependent on some hired guy (or gal) half-way across the country. LOL

Well....I'd best turn off the computer and go get something to eat. Today has reminded me WHY I don't turn the computer on on Sundays. :-(
It keeps drawing me...it is just too bid of a temptation.
However, today I had to backup files, check e-mails before I take off, and other "housekeeping" chores.

Hey, I hope you Show and Tell the homeschooling group website when you get it designed and up and running! I'd love to see it, and I'm sure everybody else would, too!
