So here I am trying to put another entry out. We'll see if I can really do this every day again. Probably not, maybe every other day, we'll just have to wait and see.
Anyway, my birthday yesterday was excellent. I had asked my nephew to babysit for us so Paul and I could go out to dinner. He's not moving until Friday, so I thought maybe he could. Well he was busy and couldn't do it, so that's why Paul was taking us all out. But as we were getting ready to go, my nephew called and said he could come watch the kids. YEA!!! A time out with just me and hubby, what a blessing. So he took me to this steak house we've been wanting to try. Oh my, expensive, but wonderful food. I'm a steak-n-taters girl myself, so any steakhouse with good baked potatoes is on my list of restaurants. And this one tops that list now. Of course with the prices it's only going to happen maybe once a year, but it was worth it. We had a great time, and besides the awesome food, it was great having some time alone with my love.
I had promised some pictures of some of the birthday items I bought, but truly I'm too tired to take and upload the pictures, how about I just list them? The biggest thing I wanted was a laptop table, it's been getting hard to use my laptop on the couch without one. So I bought one yesterday, that was tall and had rollers on it. I put it all together before Paul got home only to find out it won't work for us. It won't fit around the couch like I wanted it too. So I had to take it apart so we could return it to the store. Only at this point I was very overwhelmed and so very thankful for Paul. My nephew had just called when I started taking it apart, and wouldn't be at our house for an hour. Paul insisted on helping me since we had time. I'm usually very stubborn and do things myself, but I am learning to take more help. I was so thankful for it, and he had it taken apart and put back in the box in no time. I married such a sweet man.
After dinner we took the table back and I got a more usable one. OK, I said I wasn't going to show pictures, but I am. I had Sarah take the pictures, all I had to do was upload them. So this is a picture of the box so you can see how it works. There are three different heights I can use with it.
This is me using it today on the lowest height. It really does help my shoulder and wrist having this. It's from my birthday money. (And yes, you caught me with my reading glasses on ).
And then this was the other thing I picked up today when we were at the mall.
I have been wanting this book for the longest time, and just never had the money for it. So today when we were at Barnes & Nobles, with my Starbucks Cafe Mocha Decaf with extra whip in hand , I finally bought the book. Plus the kids each got a book too that they had saved up their money for. I do like the homeschool discount you can get at B&N, 20% does add up.
I got a few other things, and there are still a couple of things I want to get, but I'll drag this out for a while until I decide exactly everything I want.
We did get our lessons done today before we went out and about. And tomorrow will be lessons then grocery shopping in the afternoon. We were suppose to go to a friends house for dinner, but that got changed to Sunday afternoon, which I was kind of happy about. It makes Friday a much less stress day for me. And finally an evening we can relax and not have to do anything.
Well, that's my update. I'm off to get myself something to eat and then go to bible study tonight. Have a great night.
Oh, I love your reading glasses picture! Makes you look very studious! I am glad you had such fun spending your birthday money. In October, I will have the same fun, I hope.

JoAnn,
Forgive me for forgetting. My inlaws show up as a surprise for my daughter's birthday last Sunday and it's been nuts. Hope you had a good one. Like the laptop table, so need one of those.
Funny how you got that book, that's the classic my daughter picked to read this year. She's going to love it. I love Jane Austin's work.
Did I miss your birthday? So sorry. I've been delayed a lot this summer. I hope you had a good day celebrating. We are blessed because of your... so, Happy Birthday!!!
This blog is so I can share my journey with the Lord, my journey as a wife and mother, and my journey as a homeschool mom. I pray that you will see the Lord in my life through happy and sad times, and that this blog glorifies the Lord.
This is an award and tag free zone, thank you.
