Well, I have a few minutes, so I thought I would do a quick blog entry. We have been so busy this week, but it's been a great week. As a family we help out with VBS at our church. Paul mainly helps on Friday night where he runs the big party we have. Sarah does the worship/cheerleading time and is helping to serve the kids snacks this year. Paulie is helping me, and I'm kind of an assistant administrator (I guess, not really sure how to title what I do). But with what I do, I am constantly walking, all morning. Goodness my legs and feet hurt by the time I get home around 1:00pm. But it's a blessing, and we have a great time. We get to see Paul a lot too, since he's working while we are there. This year the administrator decided to add a PM VBS from 6:00pm to 8:30pm to help with parents who can't get the kids there during the day. So far it's been going great, and the best part was that a child gave her life to the Lord last night!!! It's really been good.
But I don't get as much time on the computer because of it. I forgot what it's like to get up and out the door by 8:00am and then have to do work. Big difference than the homeschool and computer work I do at home. But there is a part of me that misses it too. I've always enjoyed office/administrative work, this is lots of fun. I went back last night to help the assistant administrator get started with everything, but tonight I get to stay home. I have a bit of some computer to get done this afternoon, but then I get to just lay around and relax until dinner.
Not much else going on. When we have VBS week, we don't plan or do much else. My family has arrived home safely, and we should know more about the next setup for Jessi's surgery soon. When I know more I'll let you know.
Can you believe I already have a list of some Christmas presents I want to make? I have some crochet ideas of things to make. I just need to get the yarn sometime this week or next, then I'm going to try and start them. But I also want to finish up my shawl too, so I guess we'll see how much I actually get done.
OK, my eyes are getting tired, and I have some VBS work I need to finish up before I get real lazy. Hope you have a blessed week.
So glad all the VBS is going well. It sounds like really fun work for your family! Way to go on getting your Christmas ideas going already. I'm usually on it within the next month or so, but with the adoption I have no clue when I will get to it this year :-).
VBS is a wonderful thing! This year, I am taking the year off, though. My kids are going and I am doing the Bible study, which I needed so badly! Have a great week. It's hard work, but so vital!

Okay, I am FINALLY here. The last 3 weeks have been a whirlwind. I am slowing down a smidge but not really. (seed saving has started again) But I have tried a few times to comment but get called away. It sounds so neat at your VBS. I am not helping this year. I am going to allow myself to have a week of school planning. ( I never seem to get this so I will take full advantage of this)
Please would you be willing to show your shall that is in progress ! I would love to see it and don't want to wait till your done. [0= I just taught myself the feather stitch (knitting) yesterday ! I love it. It is so easy and so pretty !!!
I will show it Friday or Saturday. [0=
Sending you blessings and ((HUGS)) my SSiC

I used the Basic version for nearly two years before buying the Plus. I really liked it--made it a lot easier to set up lessons, and easier to change them too--unless I wanted to change them backwards.
I think the Plus has a lot more flexibility. But there is a learning curve, and I am in the middle of it. That means it is quite time-consuming at the moment. I only hope I can save time with it once I start our school year again.
Sounds like you are also a family of busy bees... HA HA, I remember VBS as a kid we had ours in a very small old old old 1 room church it was very neat... I bet your kids are just having a blast each day they are there and that as a family its been wonderful...
This blog is so I can share my journey with the Lord, my journey as a wife and mother, and my journey as a homeschool mom. I pray that you will see the Lord in my life through happy and sad times, and that this blog glorifies the Lord.
This is an award and tag free zone, thank you.
