New and Old....Baby Info included :)
So since I didn't blog for months there's a lot of cool stuff I did that I'd like to share with y'all. Then there is the health updates and cool stuff going on now....
So - my plan is to post past stuff every other day. In the between days I will post current stuff. Will that confuse y'all???
Yesterday I posted Thomas' Birthday party that was in August - if you didn't see that post go read it and look at the cool pictures :) I assume since I haven't blogged in awhile you have forgotten about me and might not know I've posted more over the past week. So don't forget to look at those and keep in mind I'll be posting lots of info and pictures, trying to catch up!!!
So right now I am 30 weeks! Can you believe I'm in the last trimester!!!!
Here is the official countdown ticker.

So, anyways....I have to share my cool story of what happened last week...Consumer Reports says you shouldn't use a carseat after it's older then 6 years. Ours was - so I was realizing we probably needed to buy a new one. They are pretty expensive though and I'd hoped we could find one of the new infant car seats to strap into our old stroller. I was pricing things, doing research on how expensive things are for car seats, changing tables (we don't have one) and other things. We have a wonderful working crib and baby swing (though I wish they'd made them without the bar over the top 7 years ago when we bought Jenna's.) I checked ebay to see what used things were selling for. I would never buy a used car seat though - I'm not comfortable with that.
So I checked craigs list for our town and found lots of good deals for baby items......
Do you want to see what I bought?????
Do you want to know how much I got it for??????

a 6 piece crib set - the dust ruffle, fitted sheet, quilt, bumper, window valance and diaper stacker!

This collapsable stroller (only needs one hand!) It's much smaller then our old one - which I didn't want to have to upgrade, but the new carseat wouldn't strap into the old one...I was going to take the old stroller to a used clothing store that takes clothes and baby gear. I do that often and get more stuff for the kids and me....Well the stroller strap was broken so they wouldn't take the stroller. Goodwill took it though. Someone could easily fix the stap.

And I got this car seat. All these items were still in their original box - unopened!!! This was a small baby store that had gone out of business. They moved all the unsold items to a warehouse and listed them on craigs list.
I had contacted them about looking at the items, but didn't hear from them for a couple days. While I was waiting to set up a time to go look at the items they sold out of this stroller, that matched the carseat.

I was kinda bummed that they didn't get back to me quicker, but it worked out fine. The stroller we got is nice, is even smaller then our first stroller and doesn't clash with the carseat (though for the price I don't exactly think I'd mind much if it did)
We have a pretty good baby bathtub that I think I can find the pieces too - and a walker and such, but our bouncer broke so we will probably get a new/used one of those.
Our only big purchase I'm trying to figure out how we can afford is this: (it's 120 dollars)

It's the changing table that converts to a desk!!!!!!! So by the time the baby starts potty training we will be able to convert it to a desk for Jenna to do her school work at! I like that it has an open area under it where we can put the diaper pail, and maybe the laundry hamper too. Isn't it pretty! And cheap compared to other changing tables - we just have limited funds with grad school and are trying to figure out how to make it happen....maybe they will mark it on clearance soon - (it's an online only purchase so I'll just keep looking every few days I guess)
At any rate - did I ever tell you that we are having a girl? I'm not sure what I've posted over the past few months. I will post ultrasound picts soon. We are working on names right now....back to the post though -
So brand new the crib set, stroller and car seat would cost:
430 dollars
I got those items (UNUSED - UNOPENED) for............................
150 dollars!!!!
I hope the store is able to sell all of their items. I am just glad I was willing to check online and go check out the warehouse. They had great stuff there! So at least we are a little prepared in case baby comes early!
Gotta run, it's lunchtime here - I'll try to be back tomorrow!

Hey, lady, I saw that you were logged in and I just wanted to stop by and see that you were well. I thought seeing your comment go up would encourage you in the last days of your pregnancy (LOL). Incredible buys, incredible savings. It feels good, doesn't it?

Now that is the kind of shopping i like to do!
What great deals you got.
I like the changing table/desk, but i gave up using a changing table 3 babies ago. Now we just use the top of our old dresser with a contour pad and a diaper organizer over the closet door. Keeps a certain tot out of the wipes.
Congrats on having a girl!
That is a beautiful bedding set.
Blessings,
