• November 25, 2009 - Shrek 4

Posted By Bronte

See full size imageIt's official, Shrek 4, entiltled Shrek Forever After will arrive May 21, 2010.

In the fourth and final enstallment, Shrek is feeling too "domesticated." He wants his roar back. So, he makes a deal with Rumpelstiltskin. But, of course, the deal go awry and Shrek sees what life would be like in Far Far Away if he never existed. It's a sort of Brother's Gimm meets It's a Wonderful Life.

Hmm... Sounds interesting. We'll see!

• Nov. 24, 2009 - I Feel Like Queen

Posted By Bluejane in My Out of the Blue Scribbles

I've had a strange feeling all day today. A happy feeling, although I wasn't sure why. The words, "this is the day, this is the day, this is the day," kept running through my head.

I must admit, I knew what the voices were talking about, and for once they were right.

Needless to say I could just scream. Sadly, the rest of the house is soundly sleeping so I shall restrain myself till morning. Until then I shall grin, gaze lovingly at my purple progress bar, and feel like Queen.

• Nov. 19, 2009 - The Legend of the Pussy Willows

Posted By Elizabeth/ The Gift of Family Writing

The Legend of Pussy Willows by Dot McGinnis

A Polish legend tells the tale Of tiny kittens,

oh, so frail.

Along the river’s edge they chased.

With butterflies, they played and raced.

They came too close to the river’s side

And, thus, fell in. Their mother cried.

What could she do but weep and moan?

Her babies’ fate were yet unknown.

The willows, by the river, knew

Just what it was that they must do.

They swept their graceful branches

down Into the waters, all around.

To reach the kittens was their goal;

A rescue mission, heart and soul.

The kittens grasped the branches tight.

The willows saved them from their plight.

Each springtime since, the story goes,

Willow branches now wear clothes.

Tiny fur like buds are sprung

Where little kittens once had clung.

And that’s the legend, so they claim,

How Pussy Willows Got Their Name!

I found this poem on a website called Poetry Galore.

• Nov. 19, 2009 - 35 days untill Christmas!!

Posted By Joyful24

Hey Everybody!

Here is the update...

Indoor Soccer Starts!! 4 days!!
Thanksgiving!! 7 days!!
Put Christmas Tree Up!! 9 days!!
Chrismas Eve!! 34 days!!
Christmas!! 35 days!!
New Years Eve!! 42 days!!
New Years!! 43 days!!

YAY!!! I CAN'T WAIT!!! Wooo hoo!!! I'm going to get Graham's present over Thanksgiving break (the whole week of Thanksgiving off of school)! After that I still have three presents to get! I have Fields' GreenPeppermint's, and Quinn's Christmas presents. :)  Hmmmm...for lunch I am going to have crackers and cheese! YUM! I looooove crackers and cheese! Haha! Tonight Fields' has an end-of-the-season soccer party at Brusters! Yay! It is on a Thursday and every Thursday at Bruster's they have a deal: "Bring Your Own Banana and get Half Price on Banana Split" so we do that every Thursday and GreenPeppermint and I share a banana split (they are big enought to split). Since Bruster's is RIGHT by Dollar Tree (only like 50 feet away) I hope after we eat our ice cream we can go there and buy stuff for our shoe boxes that we are going to fill up. Does anybody else do that? You know, fill up the shoe box and send it to poor people in other countries? Fields and Graham are doing one for a boy aged 5-9 and GreenPeppermint and I are doing one for a girl aged 10-14. :) It will be fun. They are due Monday (I think).
Here is the website...http://www.samaritanspurse.org/        What you do is you get a shoe box and fill it up with stuff. (ill it up with stuff depending on what age and gender you pick to give it to) The stuff has to be new stuff; not used stuff. You can either wrap the box (lid and box seperate so you can still get it open) or not. After you fill it up (I suggest the dollar store for stuff) you put 7$ in it (for shipping the box) and drop it off at a the nearest drop-off location (on the web-site you can type in your zip code and it will give you directions to the nearest one). It gives you present suggestions on the website too. Oh yeah, you have to print out a label either a boy or girl label (depending on if you are giving it to a girl or a boy) and check off either the box next to 2-4, 5-9, or 10-14. That is what age you are giving it too! You can get more information on it by going to the website.
Today is a busy day because right after school we are leaving for art class and then when we get back from that we are going to leave for Fields' party. I was planning to run today but it was too busy of a day so I guess I'll run tomorrow. Last night we went to the YMCA and swam! It was fun...don't worry...it was indoors! We couldn't have stood if it was outdoors! Haha! Well, Sorry about the boring post but I don't really have anything to post about besides boring stuff. :P Well, toodleoodleoo!

Your Friend, Felicity :)

Question: Do you play an instrument? If so, which one?
Answer:  Yes, piano. :)

P.S. I am going to add one Christmas song to my playlist every day.

EDIT: Since I just posted thisthis yesterday I am going to add my tag and something I want to say as an edit. :)

GreenPeppermint and I actually ended up doing a box for a 2-4 year old boy because PeculiarTreasure said that there aren't enough boxes for the boys so I wanted to do a boy and then GreenPeppermint picked out what age. :) Here is what we put in the box...

A Bible (I doubt somebody that young can read but I'm sure somebody there can. :))
a teddy bear
a squishy ball with those things sticking out of it (the balls with gooey stuff in them)
two fun little kid toothbrushes
little kid tooth paste
crayons
coloring book
glow sticks
and Nerds (the candy)

We are also going to do another one today for a 10-14  year old boy because they get the least boxes.

• Nov. 18, 2009 - Know you what it is to be a child?

"Know you what it is to be a child? It is to be something very different from the man of today. it is  to gave a spirit yet streaming from the waters of baptism; it is to believe in love,to believe in loveliness, to believe in belief; it is to be so little that the elves can reach to whisper in your ear; it is to turn pumpkins into coaches, and mice into horses, lowness into loftiness, and nothing into everything, for each child has its fairy godmother in its soul.”  -Francis Thompson

• Nov. 17, 2009 - Autumn Ramble

Posted By Elizabeth/ The Gift of Family Writing

I am sitting here and trying to think of something to write about. To my right, the window is open and letting in a beautiful breeze. The sun is shining and the leaves are falling to the ground with a soft whispering sound. To my left, I can see into my bedroom - spotless and shiny from this morning's cleaning. In front of me (of course) is the computer screen were the tiny thoughts of my mind are being transferred to you. In a little while I will be watching Little Woman with my dear sister, Anna, and enjoying it immensely, I'm sure.

I can hear soft snatches of harmonic melodies as Anna listens to Redwall music while doing the dishes. Above the computer screen is a red shelf that contains a tea pot, tea cup and a coffee cup with the words “Faith, Nothing will be impossible for you" - Matthew 17:20. There are several little books that read as follows: Gathered Thoughts, Etiquette for Ladies, and Fair Play and Other Stories. Furthermore, there is an Canon Ink Cartridge, and numerous CDs and labels. Well, I have rambed on some, haven’t I? At least I have emptied my mind! And entertained you.
