My Happy Van

No, it's not a "hippy van", it's a "happy van".   Why is it a happy van?  It's a happy van because it is exactly the van I need.  It's paid for, so I can let my children paint flowers and fish all over it.  It's a 15 passenger van so my whole family can ride together in it.  It's not fancy on the inside, it has plastic seat covers and no carpets on the floor so it's spill friendly. It has windows that crank down with a handle (remember those). Yes, it drinks a lot of gas, but that just encourages me to stay at home more. I don't worry about it getting stolen, who would be able to hide from the police in that. It's only worth a few thousand dollars but it gets me to where I want to go and back home again just as good as any fancy new car with a big car payment would.  I'm going to enjoy my van as long as it lasts and I trust God will provide me with exactly what I need when it dies.  Yes, it's a "till death do us part" relationship with me and my old "happy van".

I love the concept of a happy van. The paid for kind are the best anyway.

A family of 7 at our church recently purchased a van and it has blessed them. I love seeing their family every Sunday. Praise God for your "happy van!"

(A friend of my FIL came from a large family and he chuckles as he remembers piling in the family car, sitting on laps, no seatbelts, and being one big happy family.)

How fun!!! I love how its decorated - bet you never "lose" it in a crowded parking lot either! (I am always forgetting where I parked.) God is good.

Blessings,
Kym

I *love* your happy van!! Your children have some real artistic talent - the artists should consider studying to be muralists. Great opportunities out there!

Thanks for sharing, and have a lovely weekend!

Thank you for the gentle reminder! Gotta love those 'death 'till us parts' cars!! I've been nagging my hubby for a newer car w/better a/c ~we live in the desert~but the ones we have are paid for!!

I'm learning to be content so thanks again for the gentle reminder to stay that way!!

We had a van like that years ago (12 passenger). My oldest DD was embarrassed to ride in it. And it was just a normal blue Dodge van! I think you are very brave to paint all over it and ride through town! You go, girl! Thanks for sharing.
Oh, and I like your hat in the picture on the sidebar.

Your van is priceless! With talent like that you cannot go wrong! Our dear van is at 190 plus thousand miles and still getting us to where we need to go...untill death do us part or the Lord provides another.

If I had such talented children, I'd let them paint all over my van, house and whatever they fancied. That is beautiful! They need to get a happy van business going. :-)

I love it! We are enjoying having no carpayments as well. We intend to keep our car and van going for as many years as possible.

What a fun van!! I love it and the kids must to :) We actually came across a van not long ago that was all painted in a beach theme and they used different textures and materials pasted onto it to give it a really neat 3D effect :)

I love the art work. I don't think our van would be quite so happy if my kids took a paintbrush too it!

Paid for vehicles are the best kind!
I enjoyed your blog - I scrolled down the page (first time I think I've been here). I love your graduation party at your grandfather's farm!
I love the picture of your boys and their peach harvest, too. Sooo cute!

What fun! And no problem finding it anywhere. I had no idea how many dark green minivans there were until I had to start searching for ours.....
