Due to a migraine and a terrible attitude (both ME)... I almost decided NOT to go ahead with our Passover plans, but after a 2 hour nap, I was feeling almost back to normal... Thanks be to God!
The photo on the left shows Noah and Hannah tenderly caring for "the lamb".
Daddy discusses the parallel between yeast and sin and instructs the children to hunt for the "yeast" in our house, but also in our hearts.

Yeast in the fruit basket... Yeast behind our Passover library books...

Yeast behind the house plants... Yeast in our own lives... This one says, "You judge people without knowing the whole situation."

Does this mean we have to sacrifice the lamb????

No... THE LAMB OF GOD has paid the price for us! And just as the Israelites applied the blood of the lamb to their doorposts so that the death angel would pass over and not bring death to their home... we apply the "blood" of THE LAMB to the doorposts of our heart and family so that spiritual death will passover our lives.
Time to CELEBRATE PASSOVER!

The work has been done... now it is time to remember!

The candles are lit... The blessings are spoken...

The story is told... the questions are asked and answered... we remember...

We wash our hands and our hearts. Almost in unison the children made the connection to our study of James and began to quote.... "Wash your hands you sinners, purify your hearts you double-minded. Grieve, mourn and wail. Change your laughter to mourning and your joy to gloom..."
We know that sin is serious business... and only the shedding of blood, innocent blood, could redeem us...

We share all the elements and discuss their meanings... we remember...

The meanings begin to sink in... as we remember, we begin to make connections...

We grow in our understanding of what Christ did for us... and we celebrate!

And we anticipate His promised return... with JOY and HOPE!!!
