MY MOTHERING STYLE
Check out this interesting Mothering Styles Quiz!
MY type is: istj —The “Responsibility” Mother
“I have a serious love affair with to-do lists. I could sit for hours reading, organizing, and rearranging my weekly calendar.”
-
The ISTJ mother has a highly developed sense of responsibility: for work, home, family ... particularly her children. Whether she’s overseeing daily baths or insisting on a 10 p.m. curfew, her efforts are largely focused on providing her children with order and routine. She wants them, regardless of age, to be able to count on her and the structure she provides.
-
In carrying out her commitment to her responsibilities, the ISTJ mother is organized, industrious, and detail-oriented. Because her focus is the day-to-day realities of life, her children are likely to feel secure and well provided for.
-
The ISTJ mother also sets a good example and provides her children with practical guidance on being a productive, responsible individual. Still, with all her seriousness, she may delight family members with her quick wit and observations about the details of life.
Please PRAY that I won't Ruin My Own Mother's Day this year with what JenIg would call a GAKER mentality!

I took the quiz, added my results to my blog, posted a link and gave you credit. I had taken the full Meyers Brigg typology in a leadership class. My husband took it on-line. I am an INFP that masquerades as an INTJ only when I need to. He is an INTJ ~ and makes lists of lists he needs to write!

Well, if everyone pays (I am not sure about one of the auctions... ) then, I will have made over $150 this week! And this week's auctions already have a lot of watchers and a few bids! :)

Just wanted you to know that I appreciated you stopping by to say hello.
Grandpa is still hanging on - one foot in this world, and one in the next. I don't think it will be much longer, and we appreciate your prayers!
THanks again,
Heidi

Just wanted to let you know that I appreciate your prayers on behalf of Marissa.
As I look at the number of times I have become anxious and tearful this weekend, I think, perhaps I should have named my blog Much Afraid. But, Steven Covey says in 7 Habits that we are to begin with the end in mind. At the end of my life, I will be Acceptance with Joy!

I really appreciated your comments today ~ and your prayers. Scarily, I am not PMS yet...unless I have started having three weeks of PMS (which is really a scary thought!! God has really given a lot of peace since yesterday but I am still asking for clear wisdom in setting boundaries for my kids in their friendships.
Much love,
Michele

I took that quiz before, can't remember the results, but I took it.
BTW, just to clarify, you need to leave a comment on the front porch, that's the link I need. I'm trying to give recognition to all the people on the Front Porch that work SO hard.
God Bless,
Amber

I could totally relate to the Ruining your mother's day post. I made up my mind the night to be content all day. I even told a lady at church I had pre-determined not to be bitter! Prior history sure must have had some crestfallen notes! Honestly my sweet 10 yr old son was most concerned that I felt loved and mentioned it several times that day. That was the best part.

That's my style. Thanks for mentioning this, I feel much better about the fact that I am not very organized now. I will still keep working at that, but I have a better appreciation for how God made ME now!
I enjoy your blog. I am new to this, but I have already met so many wonderful and encouraging mothers. I appreciate your countdown until the end of the schoolyear, we have one at public school for the first time this year. I can hardly wait for us all to be together again!
