I DID make lasagna for my dad. It turned out great! I am glad I made an extra pan of it to freeze! We will definitely enjoy it later!
Russ made an awesome spinach salad with his "famous" basalmic vinegarette dressing! It was delicious.
Then, my dad made HIS "famous" rootbeer floats for the children and bought them a bunch of fireworks from our church's firework stand fundraiser.
I sent all of the children to bed at 9 and I browsed through a new CBD catalog for a few minutes and went to sleep about 9:30.
I got up around 1:45 AM. I really didn't need to get up that early, but whenever I have to get up early I keep waking up b/c I am afraid I will oversleep. So, I just stayed up. I changed out of my pajamas, made a sack breakfast for my dad to take on the airplane (yogurt, fruit, and juice), and then checked my email (what other quiet things are there to do that early in the morning?).
My Dad came upstairs around 2:30 and we headed off to drop him off at the airport shuttle (which is about a 30 minute drive from my house). He had a 6 AM flight and it is about a 90 minute shuttle ride to the airport from my house. That should have given him a bit of time to get to his plane and get checked in.
I got back home just about 3:45 and fell back to sleep. I usually get up when my dh gets up to go to work so we can visit. I remember he was trying to talk to me,but I was totally incoherrant.
About 7:15 he called to see if I was up yet. I wasn't even sort of awake! So... I am so thankful he called or the day would have totally gotten away from me!
We have stayed on schedule pretty much today and even did a little extra work since we did not do any at all on Monday or Tuesday.
Lunch is over and the children are outside for 8 more minutes and then we are going to work on lapbooks!
I even got a chance to excercise and work on my sewing a bit... except that I sewed the collar of Hannah's new dress inside out... oops. I am going to have to rip it apart and try again. I might even need to cut a new collar! ( btw... I hate sewing collars and really vaccillated about whether or not to use a pattern that had a collar for this particular dress!)
