Today was still less than perfect, but we did get a lot of work done!
I had to get up early b/c dh was out of ironed shirts for work! Got to get caught up on ironing!
Daddy devotions were over Acts 10:9-23 "Peter's Vision".
After chore time and breakfast I got a load of laundry going and we got down to business.
Our hymn today was: I Love to Tell the Story (scroll down to song title and click to listen to midi).
Our Bible Lesson from Herein Is Love: Exodus was Lesson #27 "The Surpassing Glory". Awesome lesson... some thoughts from that lesson...
Moses radiated the glory of God. Jesus IS the glory of God.
Moses delivered God's Word written by Gods' Hand on tablets of stone. Jesus IS the WORD and writes His message on the tablets of our hearts.
Moses and the Aaronic priesthood set up sacrifices for the people on a daily basis. Jesus IS the complete sacrifice once and for all time!
Moses was willing to give up personal glory to intercede for the rebellious people for a time. Jesus gave us personal glory to intercede for the rebellious people for ALL time.
Moses led the people from physical slavery, but could not fully bring them into the promised land. Jesus delivers us from spiritual slavery and WILL return to take us into THE Promised Land!
The Law shows us how much we need God. And Jesus provides the Way, the Truth and the Life!
After our family prayer time we did Chapter 9 from The Thinking Toolbox entitled "Using the Opposing Viewpoints Chart." Then we made some charts on our white board!
Then, we read pages 13-16 of Azusa Street by Frank Bartleman.
We studied some of our Bible Quiz Focus Chapter for this week (Acts 5).
Then, the children began their independent work time:
Kaitlyn finished:
Math-U-See Advanced: Extra Practice Page 8A (multiplying decimals)
Pathway Readers: Our Heritage Part I of a story called "Auctioned for Freedom" and the corresponding reading comprehension workbook pages.
Bible Quiz Homework
She still needs to have a spelling lesson today.
Jordan finished:
Math-U-See Intermediate: Test 28. He got a 74 %. He gets the concept (factors), but was not thorough enough and missed quite a few. He would get them partially right, but not completely.
Pathway Readers: Seeking True Values "What Would You Do?" and the corresponding workbook comprehension/vocabulary page.
He completed a page in Complete-A-Sketch of a bike and did pretty well!
He did his spelling test, but needs a retest still.
I need to check whether or not he did his Bible Quiz homework for today yet.
Ian finished:
Math-U-See Intermediate: Lesson 5-1 (multiplication by 7 and 8)
Pathway Readers: Building Our Lives "Teacher's Pets" and corresponding reading comprehension and vocabulary workbook pages.
He completed a cursive page in Writing With Phonics 2.
He did a spelling lesson and a retest.
He does great at finishing his work and has no more book work today!
Noah finished:
Math-U-See Foundations: Test 25 & 26 (subtraction with 1 to 2 regroupings) and got a 94 %!
Pathway Readers: New Friends Review Test 3A. I did not tally up his score, but he did very well and only had a few corrections to make.
He did a page of cursive from Christian Learn-At-Home Grade:3 (Hh)
I still need to do a spelling lesson with him today.
Hannah finished:
Math-U-See Foundations: Lesson 4-3 (adding +2 and solving for an unknown)
This is all she has completed so far today. She still needs to do a reading lesson, Penmanship and two pages in her seatwork book.
All of the children have done flashcards today and have written in their journals.
We WERE going to do a science lesson in about 2 minutes, but I can hear them fighting right now, so there will need to be a character lesson instead, I believe.
Happy Day to all of you!
Love in Christ,
Christina
