We had a Harvest Party with 3 other families last weekend! We had appetizers at the first house. Then, we had games and crafts at our house. Third we had finger foods at the next house and dessert at the last house. We had so much fun visiting with our friends. Between the 4 families we have 15 children (so far!)
Can you guess what story my children were representing? We did not have a theme of any sort, but my children like to do a group theme! Its fun! And they look especially cute when they match like this! (At least I think so!)
Here is the treats I send home with all of the families after games and crafts at our house!

Here is the recipe from Carrie Duwe... a friend from the HIK list (which stands for Homeschooling in Kitsap County. I am a member of this e-list even though I do not actually live in Kitsap County, but in the next County over!)
"Pumpkin Applesauce Gingerbread Cake"
Mix together & set aside:
3 1/2 c. all purpose flour
1 T. baking powder
1/2 t. baking soda
1/2 t. salt
1 t. cinnamon
1 1/2 t. ground ginger
Mix together in a bigger bowl:
1 c. (or 2 sticks) butter softened
1 c. granulated sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar
Then add 4 eggs and mix well.
Add & mix to the sugar mixture:
1 3/4 c. (16 oz. can) of Libby's solid pack pumpkin
1 c. applesauce
1/2 c. molasses
Now, gradually add in the flour mixture to the pumpkin mixture & mix well.
Spoon batter into a well greased & floured bundt pan. Bake in a preheated
oven at 350 degrees for 50-60 minutes or until a wooden toothpick comes out
clean. Cool for 15 minutes, and remove from pan. Dust it with powdered
sugar. (Instead of powdered sugar, I had some leftover cream cheese frosting
from cinnamon rolls and drizzled that over it.) Yum!
I baked my cake mixture for a shorter time (I think 30 minutes, maybe) in mini bundt pans that I got at Walmart recently. When they were cooled, I cut off the rounded part and "glued" two mini bundt cakes together with frosting to form a pumpkin shape. We glazed them with powdered sugar and orange juice! TASTY!
Then, Kaitlyn and I dyed some marzipan dough orange and green and made stems and leaves for them! I got the idea from a picture I saw on a magazine cover recently. I think it was Good Housekeeping or maybe Ladies' Home Journal.
We did not go trick-or-treating and did not regret not going one single bit!
