Here are the girls on my Bible Quiz Team. Jordan is also on the team as a substitute. (Whenever a player gets a "Quiz Out" they give their buzzer to Jordan. BTW... a "Quiz Out" can be five questions correct in one round or three questions incorrect in the same round.)
At our first meet (in October) Angelina was the team captain. She may or may not be the captain for the next meet (Dec. 2nd.) I am keeping track of the points they earn during practice rounds and whoever has the most points will be captain at that meet. This week Maria is ahead, but it goes back and forth between Angelina and Maria!
This year we are quizzing over the book of Acts. My team is a Novice team so we will only be doing Acts 1-11. Currently, we are up to Acts 7.
Many of the verses are considered primary or secondary memorization verses and some of the questions in the round will ask them to quote them exactly verbatim.
If the quizzer's answer is called incorrect by the Quiz Master the student may confer with their team for 30 seconds to decide whether or not they would like to contest.
If they decide to contest, they have 3 minutes to prepare and present their contest to the judges. The opposing team has an additional minute to prepare and present a response/rebuttal. Then, a final ruling is made and the match continues.
The questions are very difficult and deep reaching.
I was a Bible Quizzer when I was in high school and feel that it led to my deep love of the word of God!
