Have you ever wondered what God's will is for you?
I know I have.
I have been known to lament, if I only KNEW what God wanted for me I would do it, I just don't know what He wants me to DO. (Make sure to read this with a whiny inner voice! Because that is how I say it!)
Interestingly, on Sunday our Pastor make reference to this very issue giving a Scripture that answers this question.
Then, on Tuesday night a Pastor from a different local church gave the sermon at our Community Thanksgiving service (an annual gathering of 5 area churches). And he made the SAME comments regarding the SAME passage of scripture.
Now this passage of scripture was not new to me at all, but I just never thought about it in this way before.
Now... before I tell you about the verse I have to insert this funny side story!
This morning my husband announced that other than the Macy's Parade there would be no TV watcing today. (Unlike Dell's sweet family, who I admire greatly, my children watch WAY too much TV). Then, he added that there would be no computer usage, as well.
Now, I thought the NO TV idea was FANTASTIC, but I stopped mid-bed making and exclaimed, "WHAT? Does that mean ME too? I was just composing my blog entry in my head!"
So, just a few minutes ago, my dh brought me the laptop and told me to post my entry!
Anyway... back to God's Will for your life...
1 Thessalonians 5:18 (New King James Version)
In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
