Saturday Photo Hunt
I just wanted to take a moment to explain the Saturday Photo Hunt...
I have been posting photos with a theme once a week. They are supposed to be posted on SAT., but I am usually slow since I don't spend much time on the computer on the weekends!
Anyway, check out this website! There is a new theme each week and to participate you simply add a photo to your blog for the theme of the week from your own personal photo collection.
You can join the blogroll there if you wish to participate on a regular basis or you can just play along as you wish without joining the blogroll.
Photo Hunters
I already have my next two theme photos ready to post, but I don't have one for LINES yet!

that looks like a lot of fun. I hope you figure out the "line" photo...There are so many ideas for that...
It is a really cool idea because then it makes you look at things around you in a different way! I will have to remember this and maybe down the road here I will join in the fun.
Pretty picture by the way...I love trees like that.
Have a good day,
Christina

Dec. 6, 2006 - Penquin shock
Posted by Anonymous
Hello! We just took our family to see the film "Happy Feet", and what a shock it was! We thought it was about cute cudly penguins. We were wrong. They were just the bait. It was partly an environmental film against commercial fishing, but even more diabolically than that there were some very disturbing elements. First, some of the songs were downright raunchy (in particular a very sensual song by Prince) with lyrics that are rated R. The whole mating thing had sexual undertones way beyond the animal kingdom. Then the penguins worship a big penguin male god with praises similar to verses in the Bible. The star penguin (Mumble, the dancer) is trying to find out why the fish are dissappearing. He goes to a penguin guru who is supposed to have made contact with celestial beings....the aliens (actually the humans) and Mumble decides to find these aliens. The elders of the penguin tribe do not want anything to do with the aliens or Mumble's dancing and banish him. The feminist idea enters as Mumbles mother is the son's defender while the foolish father who stands with the elders is the wrong one as he supports the banishment of his son in a wimpy sort of way. Then the elders actually quote some very Bible sounding phrases in defense of their worship against the "paganism' (they actually say 'pagan') ideas of Mumble. Ofcourse the elders are portrayed as narrow minded backward religious men (pretty sure this is a diatribe against the religious right) who, with their beliefs, will lead the penguins to death while Mumble saves the tribe by finding the aliens (humans) who ban commercial fishing from frigid waters with the involvement of the U.N. and other world leaders. No kidding! And to top it all off, the movie previews at the beginning had a new Harry Potter film. And while my children were closing their eyes there were many little souls behind us cheering on the male witch with cheers befitting a hero.
