Projects For My Mom
Since my mom already received and opened her gifts I can post photos now!
My mom (as I have mentioned before) is a Messianic Jew... Here is the table centerpiece (to go with the cool candle I gave her last year!) and four placemats. Ignore my really ratty table. The finish has been WASHED off.. This table is not quite 3 years old, but with a five children it gets a lot of wear and tear. But I digress.)
The above gift was mom mom's Christmas/Hannukah gift.
Her bday was yesterday (as was my now 11 year old son's) and her gift:

This is a photo of me wearing the jacket just before I mailed it to her. My sweet daughter ASSURES me that I do not ACTUALLY look this heavy and that this is just a bad photo, but I don't LIKE it!!!!
Every couple of years my mom asks for one of these "sweatshirt jackets.) I just cut a sweatshirt up the front and bind it with a strip of folded over fabric. This one has the same fabric as the placemats.
Here is the back of the jacket:

This symbol means "grafted in"... The menorah represents the Torah, the Star of David represents Jesus/Yeshua and the fish represents Christianity... I think I have that right.

Very creative and personal gifts.
You did a great job with them.
I wanted to say thank you for your comments over the past few weeks or so and I wanted to apologize for not commenting back sooner. Things have been crazy here with getting settled in, the Christmas season, and with preparing for darling hubby to leave for Iraq soon.
I hope to start blogging/commenting 'regularly', again, a little bit after the new year.
I've enjoyed reading your posts and you have remained in my prayers.

Since I went to mom's house on her b-day, I saw these gifts in "person." You did an excellent job & she really loves them. She was wearing the jacket & we had the placemats out (we ate off them).
P.S. Thanks for the sweet sympathy card. The kitten looks like Cosette (which I'm sure is why you sent it).

So, are you a messianic Jew also? Do you celebrate the Jewish holidays or the "Christian" ones? Just curious...actually this might be a blog sometime soon so you will see why I am so curious.
