Wanna hear a stupid pet story? And its even true!
This morning our dog jumped up on Ian's bed and began barking and clawing at the window. Now understand that Quimby (the dog) is not allowed on the bed and she seldom barks unless she sees another dog. (She occasionally barks at people too and it is funny how discerning she is about which humans she barks at!)
Also, another piece of information is that Ian is not easily scared, but has a "phobia" of ROBBERS.... So, just as Ian was ABOUT to melt down (which is his typical response to ANY stressor, but don't tell him I said that!) he realized that Quimby was barking at HER OWN REFLECTION in the window!!!!
DUMB, DUMB DOG!!!! At least THIS stupid pet trick didn't cost us any money! Unlike the trick she pulled LAST January!

I read your post about the dog fight and it made me laugh because our dog (german shepard, lab mix) used to cringe and hide behind your legs when the neighbors rat terriers would venture by. Hysterical, they would have undoubtedly won if there had ever been a fight. She used to be such a wimp. Thanks for your comment about timberdoodles, I will check up on it.

That's funny, but I'm sure it wasn't at the time! If my dog Brejae' hears a noise at night, she'll stand guard over me (on the bed) and bark. Her protectiveness is sweet, but also annoying when I'm trying to sleep!
Dad said he may visit in April. When I've been at my new job long enough to take a vacation, I'll try to make it too, but it'll probably be a while.

Our cocker spaniel used to do that in his younger days, crazy dog. Now the only thing he responds to with any vigor is food being tossed in his direction! ;-)

My dog used to stand in front of the sliding glass door and do this every night. The only way to stop him was to physically remove him from the room. I guess the glass made a better reflector at night ~ it was not a daytime issue.
