More Alaska Books!

Yesterday we read two more of the Alaska books I wrote about.

Alaska ABC Book by Charlene Kreeger and Shannon Cartwright (cute, but a little babyish for my children who are all over the age of 6)

Arctic Babies by Kathy Darling and Photographs by Tara Darling (this one is wonderful! WE LOVED it! It even featured my FAVORITE animal... BELUGA Whales!)

I remembered that I have a cool photo of my father-in-law (Jim) and his wife (Jan) on a dog sled from when they lived in Alaska. I am going to scan and copy the photo for each of the children to put on the cover of their sled dogs lapbook! Won't that be cute. I am wanting to get that done before they (Jim and Jan) come to visit at the end of April! I think they will like it!

It sounds like a real nice study. It's great to have such a resource as Grandparents to reinforce learning.

Thanks for all the name suggestions- you really know your meanings! My husband and I look at meanings for our children's names, also. We think that they are important. I never thought about using Chloe Faith, it does sound cute- I just kind of thought that Chloe needed a bigger middle name. Hmmm.....

My name is Christina. I am 38 years old and have been happily married to my best friend, Russ for over 18 years! My username is quietcajun, but I am neither quiet, nor cajun! The nickname is based on my children's initials! The first four children are: Kaitlyn (16), Jordan (14 next month), Ian (12.5), and Noah (10 next month)... put their first intials together and you get KJIN (cajun). Sarah Hope is one of our babies in Heaven and Hannah (8 in September) is my youngest (so far). Put S and H together and you get SH as in SHHHH... QUIET. Get it? Thus, quietcajun! We are in our 12th year of homeschooling. We have tried public school, but we soon realized how important it is that they be HOME at all costs. Now we are back to having them all home again! It's not always easy, but it is for the BEST! Two of our children have Asperger's Syndrome. That is an adventure in itself. We are still learning! This blog is a place for me to sort out the daily joys and challenges of life as a mother and wife as I strive to love and know God more and bring GLORY to HIM in EVERY part of my LIFE!!!!
