Gypsy Skirts
My friend's daughters were in an Ice Show this weekend. They needed matching gypsy-style skirts... Here is what we came up with:
As a base we used shawls... to be worn around their waists like a skirt instead of over their shoulders.
They wore black leotards under this.
This is not the greatest picture b/c you can see a lot of the black shawl, but actually mostly only the fringe showed. We cute various scarves and sewed them together along the top edge and then added a waist band that tied off to the side.
This one was for the older sister (who is 13). She also wore a little crocheted turquoise vest with lots of large metallic turquoise sequins on it and a headband across her forehead with a fringe of coin-like sequins. Very cute.
Here is the one for the younger sister (age 6). She had the same headband and a vest like her big sister's only in a pinkish, burgundy color with matching sequins.
They did that song that was on the Brady Bunch years ago where Carol Brady and Jan Brady dressed up like hobos for a variety show... I guess the song was originally from Gypsy... I think its called "Wherever We Go".
Anyway, it was a lot of fun helping her out.

Looks like you have been busy! They look fabulous.
Thanks for checking in on me. I'm doing ok. My ct scan came back fine. Not showing anything beyond a cyst I already knew I had. Next is an MRI. I'm just taking it as it comes. I'm not in any horrible pain , it just comes on suddenly.

You are so talented! Like I have said before, I don't know how you have the patience to crochet as much as you do!
