I just love the way the light is coming in through the blinds in this photo. Kaitlyn is the best photographer in the family! (Although, not the only one! ) She always captures the scene from a unique angle with just the right lighting. I wish she could take her own birthday portraits that I plan to do this weekend. (If it doesn't rain! Then, again, if it rains we could do them inside!)
This picture is very typical of Noah. He spends a lot of time lining things up. He has done that since he was a baby! He does it for HOURS! While not all children who do this are autistic, this is a common trait of those who are.
Here is a picture of Ian repainting the swingset. After three years of WA rainy weather it needed a fresh restaining. My sweet husband thought this would be the perfect first painting project for Jordan and Ian.
Here is Jordan painting the loft part of the swingset while standing on the rock wall. These photos were taken by me,on the sly, out my bedroom window!
Noah and Hannah helped by guarding the slide and swings until the boys were ready to reattach them.
It all seemed so nice and helpful until SOMEONE decided to splatter paint ALL over himself and then run into the front yard with a paint splattered white shirt (which he put on just for effect) and a paint splattered hammer just as the school bus drove by. Now mind you, the paint was a reddish deck stain. So it looked like this child had just murdered someone. Just what we need when the school bus drove by. (This was a few weeks ago before public school was out for the Summer.)
Oh yeah, and I forgot to mention that later when hubby came home we realized that SOMEONE had used the WRONG deck stain... instead of the cheap Walmart deck stain SOMEONE had used 2 GALLONS of Behr deck paint... which cost around $100, I think!
Did I furthermore mention that SOMEONE decided to use a garage dollie cart as a scooter when I wasn't home one day and gouged a slit into the wall?
But in all fairness, I must mention that SOMEONE has been doing REALLY well TODAY... he has had much BETTER attitude today and has been so helpful! Thanks for your prayers. I KNOW that is the reason for the improvement!!!
Here is Kait two weekends ago at a wedding at our old church. She is holding the new baby son of one of our friends. He just adored Kaitlyn. Whenever anyone else tried to hold him he would fuss. Whenever Kait held him he would just stare at her and coo! Kait looks a little bit like his mama. Maybe that is why. Or maybe it is just that Kait is SO good with babies!
Here's a photo from the wedding. And YES, that is a backwards BALL CAP that the groom is wearing. All the groomsmen wore them too! I am raising my eyebrows even as I am typing this.
I will leave my commentary at that.
This another photo from that wedding. Kaitlyn took this photo. I would not have thought to zoom in on their hands. I think she did a beautiful job!
Here is Hannah (the one on the right) with a little friend of hers after the wedding. It was fun seeing many of our friends at the "old" church.
The following week we had lunch guests... My friend, Julia, and her three children. Here are two of them jumping on the trampoline with Ian.
Julia helped me alter some of my clothes. I am so short (5 foot 2 inches... you can't tell that by reading a blog! LOL) So, my clothes are always too long! We had flat bread pizza for lunch and enjoyed fellowshipping together!
I took this photo in my garden about a week ago... it was my first beginning of an actual veggie! This is on the Purple Beauty Pepper plant!
I already posted these afghan photos when I announced the news about my new business (still working on a name, but leaning towards Bundled in Prayer), but I wanted to tell a bit more about them.
The one of the left is for a firstborn... the baby Kait is holding in the photo above. His parents are a newly married couple. They were just married last August and she became pregnant right away. I am excited for them and they are already so natural with this sweet little guy!
The afghan on the right is for a baby who is #11 in her family! Kind of the opposite end of the spectrum! She is a sweetie with thick dark hair! Her four big sisters are thrilled b/c there has not been a new girl in the family in over a decade!
These two babies were born a day apart.
This one is for a baby who #3 in her family and the first girl. She was born a week after the above two babies. They are all from our "old" church. Even though its a large church it only has two or three new babies a year, so three new in one week was pretty special!
The above afghan was my first attempt at polka-dots. I am really happy with how it turned out!
Hopefully, I can think of something more interesting to blog about tomorrow! I am not feeling super inspired and I have to go finish some costumes that I am making for my old church. They have a big patriotic service every year and these costumes are needed for THIS Sunday! YIKES! Better go finish my sewing!
