I had a hard time waking up this morning and if I had known how busy this day would be I think I would have felt even MORE tired! LOL!
The entire first hour of the morning was full of fussing and whining. The children were a little irritable too!
Finally, we got through the chores and breakfast time and started devotions only 3 minutes late. Not too bad, all things considered!
The bus came for the two public schoolers while I was mid-chapter on our read out loud! I guess I was still a bit off in my timing!
I dashed them out the door before the bus could whiz by and Noah actually ran back to pick up something he dropped! Silly boy!
As soon as I re-entered the house I saw two lunch bags on the counter! AAAARRGH! At least I was already needing to drive into town today, but now I would just have to remember one extra thing!
Hubby called to ask me to return DVDs to Blockbuster and asked me to have Jordan change the settings on the lampposts outside. Mental note made.
We started the laundry going and headed downstairs.
We read about half of Chapter 4 in Streams of Civilization and then it was time to grab the rest of the school work and get in the car.
I ran into the littles school and dropped off their lunch bags and then ran the two oldest to their dentist appointments. I worked with Ian in the lobby while we waited. It was a little nerve-wracking b/c Ian's 3rd grade teacher (he went to 1 year of public school two years ago) came in and sat beside us. Ian was struggling with his math and I was wondering what Mr. Patterson must be thinking of that. He didn't say anything though.
About 1 1/2 hours and almost $300 later the dentist was done with the two oldest and we were on our way back home.
We had lunch and I checked my email and then we were back downstairs. I graded all of Ian's work and Jordan finished his pretty quickly and I graded his too.
Kaitlyn.... well, it was a slooooooooow day. I am not sure she ever did finish her school work today! SIGH!
I cut out four aprons while they worked. It is nice that my sewing room is adjacent to the school room b/c I can run back and forth easily. The four aprons are gifts for my mom. She picked out the fabric for two of them while she was here. She loves handmade gifts!
During the afternoon we had a fun phone call! The local Christian radio station called to tell us that Ian had won a drawing for free tickets to a Relient K and Switchfoot concert in December! My husband is going to try to get off from work early that day to take him! Ian was THRILLED! Of all my children, this is the one who would most enjoy this prize! The whole family is excited for him!
At 3PM I brought all of the clean laundry upstairs and got started on folding. I helped Ian clean out his drawers in his room and vaccuumed half of the upstairs (I had started that job yesterday!)
When the littles arrived home just after 4 I helped them with homework and got dinner started!
It was then that I remembered to have Jordan change the settings on the lampposts!
I made whole wheat fettucine. Ian steamed some broccoli and Jordan grilled steaks for us. (He is getting to be a great GRILLER... with the exception of the time he accidentally singed his eyebrows!)
After dinner the children cleaned up the kitchen and Russ asked me what DVDs I picked up when I returned the other ones today! OOPS! I knew I forgot something! So, Russ and I went to return them... sometimes it is fun for us to run an errand without the children... like a mini date! LOL!
The children were all in bed when we returned home 40 minutes later! I was proud of them for obeying that one. We struggle with bedtime almost every night. (Now, two of them still got out of bed tonight for one more hug, but it was a huge improvement!)
Now, Russ is watching a movie and I am blogging! A typical end to a crazy day!
Hope I didn't bore you to tears!
