One thing I can say for my children is that they do not lack for creativity!
If there is nothing fun... they make their own fun!
I never know what I will find in our house!
Yep... A monkey in the CROCKPOT!
And a BUNNY in the cookie jar! Oh the shame!
(Try not to notice that our little table has been washed so many times that it has no more finish on it! LOL!)
I am told that being allowed to add things to the grocery list is a good penmanship and spelling excercise! Noah, age 9 learned THIS skill from his older brothers! In case you can't read it it says: egg nog warning: a have to buy, cookies warning: a have to buy, cake warning: a have to buy, milk duds warning: a have to buy!
I cannot tell you how many times I have been in the grocery store laughing at the notes on the shopping list... things like "hot cocoa PLEEEEASE mom! We promise to clean up the mess!"
This might be hard to see. Try clicking to get a bigger picture. There is a cute story with this one!
We went out to lunch when my mom was visiting and while waiting in the restaurant Hannah used her crayons to decorate a napkin with flowers. Then, she labeled it " flower's". I explained to her that the apostrophe is only needed to show that something belongs to something or someone.
She nodded and sighed "OOOOOH!"
A few minutes later she showed me the second napkin. It pictures and tree and next to it some individual leaves. It is labeled "leaf's". I began to explain that she again forgot to exclude the apostrophe when she quickly blurted... "It has an apostrophe because the leaves belong TO the trees!"
I started to correct her thinking and my mom began to laugh and said, "Can't argue with that!"
So I decided to wait to straighten that one out until another day!
When she saw me tuck the napkins into my purse she grinned and asked, "Is that going on your blog?"
