Texting: A Sign of the Times???
Posted in They Say the Funniest Things!
The other night we were watching a John Wayne movie... typical Old West stuff. Russ (my husband) pointed out some kind of tool that a character was using and asked the children, "What is she doing with that?" to see if they could figure out what it was.
Kaitlyn, without missing a beat, said, "Oh, she's TEXTING!"
I was crocheting (as usual) and hadn't really seen what they were talking about and looked up at the screen. How could they be TEXTING?
As Kaitlyn caught a glimpse of the confusion on my face she shook her head and blurted out, "Oh, I mean its a telegraph! Same thing!"
SAME THING? Well, I guess it could be kind of the same thing... telegraph, texting... same purpose, different technology! But, it wasn't a telegraph machine! It was a COFFEE GRINDER!

LOL!
I'm catching up with folks as best I can; been a bit tough trying to keep up with everyone with school & babies & all. Thanks for keeping up with me - I appreciate it!
Our cards came in so I'll be sending you one. We couldn't get a family shot this year but I managed to pull something together.
The babies don't quite fit into the outfits you go them yet - they are still kind of small! They are just starting to get into some 3-6m sizes, but only if the waists are small or it's a one piece. I saw twins in a store the other day who were 2m older & a good 5lbs heavier! As long as they stay healthy & grow steadily, it's okay.
Hope everyone is well.

I see you got the link working on your graphic. I have your graphic up but still haven't quite figured out how to get it to link to your blog. I still have the link under "Christian links" in my sidebar.

how can I resist leaving a comment for someone with the same name as me? (even if you spell yours incorrectly, ha, ha)
my boys are almost 13 and 11 1/2.
my youngest has been unofficially diagnosed with Non-Verbal learning disorder.
I think you are one I could talk much to ... I will be 38 this Wednesday.
I could not seem to find where to add you as a new "friend"
thanks for taking the time to stop by my blog ... I think it was the Lord!

I don't remember seeing the aqueduct choice (I guess I just zoomed on the real answers and didn't mess around with the others--grin). But yeah! Viaduct would be better and make it at least a little harder to guess! But I went back and saw it on the monorail question.

Too funny... I hope to ensure that my kids all know about coffee. ;o)
My husband knows this about me. In fact, he is in Australia now and has shared something he has seen everyday. First, was that water really does swirl the wrong way in the drain. But the next day he told me... you can't order coffee ~ it's a long black (two shots of espresso, with a little hot water to "weaken" it)

How funny! That is so funny. I remember asking my dad if he rode in a covered wagon when he was a boy. He laughed pretty hard over that one. Thanks for the encouraging words on my blog. Somedays I really, really, really need them! It's nice to hear success stories from other mothers who have had strong-willed children! I pray that someday I will be telling my story to some weary Mama!

LOL! I hardly ever watch old movies with my kids because they usually make fun of them so much.

LOL! A coffee grinder?! Was it a hand one that looks like the ones at the following site (except not as shiny)? http://www.espressozone.com/z-151bu.html
On another note... congratulations on winning the snowflake contest!!!! How fun! Now, you'll have to blog and let us know where you use them... on the tree, windows, etc.
Have a blessed Thanksgiving!

Too funny! It's so interesting to think about how much has changed and how some things can be so foreign to our children... my little ones were quite amused by an old rotary phone at a historic sight visit!
It was odd to think about how they really had never seen a phone like that!
Enjoy them,
ali
