Sew Much Fun!
Its my "sewing-est" time of the year!
Here are several fabrics all ready to go on the couch/hide-a-bed in the sewing room/guest room!
Took a sewing break to entertain out-of-town guests.
Isn't this a funny picture? They brought their Nintendo DS' with them and I walked into the room to THIS above scene. (Click on it for a close-up!)
The last time we saw these friends their youngest and our fourth were babies!
Don't their girls look like they could be mine with all of that red hair?
Back row (from left to right): Jordan (13), Ian (almost 12), Noah (9), Anya (almost 13) and Kaitlyn (15)
Front row (from Left to right): James (almost 9), Katarina (almost 10) and Hannah (7)
(Kaitlyn and I want you to know that although nothing is revealed from her outfit we both think her blouse is immodestly low in this photo.)
It was interesting to find out that this family has some Asperger's too. It was very nice not to have to "apologize" b/c they are dealing with it too and understand!
This was Ian's reaction to posing for a group photo! LOL!
Noah didn't mind!
Neither did Quimby!
She even performed her balancing-the-doggy-treat-on-the-flat-pug-like-nose trick!
Company's gone home... back to the sewing projects!
This is one side of a reversible apron for my mom's upcoming birthday (Dec. 13th)

Here is the reverse side!
Here is one side of her other apron! (She gets two of them!)
Here's the flip side!
I think they turned out nicely!
Here's the fabric for the next project. I am hopeful that I can make it work (even though it is actually meant to be upholstery fabric).
One more project!

Kaitlyn and I had fun "dressing" Adam and Eve, as well as "The Vitruvian" man in one of our books! We were actually being rather silly about it, but I really didn't want the boys ogling Eve and Hannah was appalled by the Vitruvian Man!
I know! I know!
We are truly strange, but...
We are having SEW much fun!

What great photos! Don't you love it when you get such wonderful pics of your kids with the kids of another family, all together like that? And then don't you just want to laugh when people ask you, "What about socialization?" Looks like your kids (and theirs) are doing fine.
Also, I really loved the photo of the "altered" Eve, etc. My hubby's relative got the kids a puzzle book with "classic" paintings in it. Unfortunately, you know that "classic" often means "pornographic" even if it WAS painted by Michelangelo. Anyway, my oldest child and I went through the book and put appropriately-placed stickers on all the cleavage, rear ends, and so on. So, I TOTALLY "get" your altered-Eve thing!
Also, I really like your aprons! They're practical AND beautiful!
Many blessings!
Christi

It looks like you've been getting a lot accomplished. The aprons look great! I actually just bought a pattern and fabric to make an apron for me today...now I'm thinking I may have to go get additional fabric and make it reversible, that's such a great idea! Is it basically just two aprons sewn back to back??? Or is it a special pattern?

Yes, the movie makes you want to cry! It's so sad!
I can't see the pictures, as I am at the library, but I am sure they are very cute, and fun. It sounds like you had a lot of fun with your sewing time this year!
love,
Rachel

see the pics now, but will take a peek at home later. Sounds like fun tho.
I liked your dressing adam and eve. We always call people who are half dressed naked people.. little inside joke. hahaha
RYC:
Glad you liked the collage. I was hoping for a neater looking collage, but I guess it was ok.
I was on a bible quix team one year with awana... that was fun. I don't remember most of the verses I memorized, just the one that I knew by heart and totally missed by one word. AAAHHH!!
Do you use cloth diapers?? or did you, I should say. And... I heard you iron?? What is up with that?? hahahaha
Yeah, I used to use the Shaklee nature bright and such that you mentioned it did work, but I still think this other stuff works better...
Speaking of Shaklee, we got out TIME mag last week, and there was a 2 page article in it about Shaklee. Thought that was funny.
Thanks for the encouraging words on my attitude. I think you got a little taste of that last nite, huh?? hahaha
Love you!!

Hi Auntie Christina
This was a really great post. I thoroughly enjoyed it. So much that I included it in The Homesteading Carnival #27: Newness Edition.
Please come by and see. Thank you,
