Aprons, Ironing and Cloth Diapers
Someone... I need to go back and check who.... asked about how I made the reversible aprons...
I cut out two aprons (but only one neck piece).
I hemmed the pockets with a decorative zig zag stitch and sewed them onto the fronts (with a regular straight stitch.)
I made the ties and pinned them in and sewed up the sides. (straight stitch)
Then, I made the neck tie, pinned it in and sewed up the top. (zig zag stitch)
Next, I turned the whole thing inside out and sewed up the bottom. (zig zag stitch)
Then, I IRONED it to make it look pretty!
And YES, Amanda, I iron. A LOT! Almost daily and I STILL hate it! LOL!
And yes, also to the question about cloth diapers. I started using cloth when Kaitlyn was 18 months old and I found out I was expecting Jordan. I knew we could not afford two in diapers and Kaitlyn was nowhere close to being trained at that time. I did cloth for all of the rest of them and have diapers stashed away for the next one... if there ever IS a next one!
I also use cloth.... ummmm..... women's hygiene products! I know... GROSSSSSSSSS! But its really not that big of a deal!

I use cloth diapers with my youngest to : ) I absolutely love them and wish I had done it with all of my babies! Do you make your own products for yourself or do you buy them? If you buy would you mind sharing where you get them. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
Blessings to you and yours,

I used cloth with my kiddos too. With Lance I switched to disposable though, when he was 1.5 yrs. I loved using cloth. I didn't mind changing my babies but with disposies I don't like. Weird huh? and I have used cloth too.
Thanks for visiting my blog, I love hearing from you. I'm sorry I don't get to visit as often as I like. I'm telling ya, adding in a baby sure makes a difference. Since I started watching baby Mathew It has cut my time to bare bones ;) but I think the main reason is he sleeps in my room where our one computer is ;)
I have really enjoyed your friendship!
Happy Late Thaksgiving,
Linda<><

I started using cloth with my 3rd. Now I tend to use a combination of both. I'd love to get my 4th potty trained - but things are too nutty right now.
After my 4th was born I discovered the Diva Cup and love it! One purchase - end of story. No mess, no fuss.
I enjoy checking in on your blog :)

It was me that asked about the aprons...thank you for explaining. I think I'll try that, it seems like it'll make them sturdier and prettier! I've also contemplated going to cloth diapers but my hubby just doesn't like the idea of a bucket full of diapers somewhere in the house (bathroom) ..is there a better way?

Hi! I saw your comment left on Denise's blog about her son Ian's asthma and just had to come visit your blog! It is beautiful and I enjoyed reading through it. I really liked the post on ironing. I have always hated ironing and just don't do it anymore unless it involves a craft of some sort! But, your post got me thinking and it was good for me to read! I love the reversible apron idea too - my daughter wants us to make aprons soon, so that will be a good project for sewing days! Anyway, just saying "hi" and I know I will be visiting here again!
