Why Was I Cleaning The House At 1 AM?
A little quiz for you all...
Why would a sane woman decide at 1 AM to:
1.) change child's sheets
2.) spot clean child's carpet
3.) clean son's bed
4.) clean son's door
5.) clean hallway outside son's room
6.) clean bathroom... very thouroughly... including clogged sink!
7.) empty and reline bathroom garbage
8.) start a load of laundry
9.) change my own pajamas
10.) take a shower
Why would I do these things in the middle of the night?
a.) I was dillusional and thought I was Cinderella
b.) I had too much caffeine and was super motivated
c.) I realized that company would be arriving and I had to ready son's room and bathroom so guests could use them
d.) I wanted to have something interesting to blog about
e.) son threw up "just a little bit"

"What thorns do you find your self needing to be wary of?" Well, I find that some thorns I try to be wary of are:
Disobeying
Mouthing off
Not keeping things picked up
Being mean to my siblings
Not reading the Word
Being afraid to go some places without someone with me
There are probably a few more, but let's not name them right now!
About your post:
Let me guess... You were tired, but couldn't go to sleep. So, since your children are sick, you had to clean up while they were sleeping, because that was the only time you had time to do it. And the last reason is because you needed to do it.
But, you must get some sleep tonight! lol
Oh, I left a comment on the birthday post... thank you for posting it for me!
Love,
Rachel

This is Tori from momtofive. Thanks for stopping by my blog and signing in. You're right, our avatars are similar, only your kids look like angels in their dressed up attire and almost like a magazine with the flowing hair of your daughter underneath everything.
My kids, on the other hand, look like rag-a-muffins who are being goofy. Which, I guess, was what was happening on that day. We hadn't gotten dressed and around because we were having way too much fun. Since I'm more of the task-oriented type and don't stop for much "fun", the kids were pretty excited. Thus, the happy faces staring at the camera.
Anyway, I got a kick out of this post. I am a notorious night-owl. This worked well when there were only two or three and we weren't trying to homeschool. Getting up at 6:30 now is dreadfully hard when you've stayed up until 1 or 2 AM. I drag myself out of bed, put on my best face, suck down the coffee and promise myself I'm going to bed at 8:30 that night. Yeah, right.
My guess as to why you did all that cleaning is either C. or E. But I'm really leaning towards the throw up thing. I would clean the bathroom really well for company, but I wouldn't worry about the door or spots on the carpet. Throw-up, on the other hand, requires cleaning in any place you think might possibly have been in the line of spray. (forgive the crudeness of that comment - I'm too tired to find a better way to say it.)
I'll look forward to reading about your family. If you have time to write a message or post about it, I would like to know about balancing kids in school and at home. We've talked about it, but none of our kids have ever gone to school.
Sincerely,
Tori
