I've been cranky lately. Just ask my children! I've been REALLY cranky. One of the most encouraging sources for me has been my friendship with Jacque! She always knows just what to say to spark HOPE within me! Now, don't get me wrong... she does not cheer me up with false flattery and "ear tickling". She speaks the truth in love. Sometimes the truth is that things are not as bad as they seem and sometimes the truth is that the problem is something that I can fix by changing MY attitude and sometimes the truth is that I need a swift kick in the behind. Jacque is amazingly perceptive and is ready to ask the questions and make the statements the really make me think and really bring courage back into my fainting heart!
For example, have you read her latest entry, CRACKED? This is a perfect example of her ability to shine the light on the hidden sins in our hearts and give insight and inspiration all in one big hug-filled swoop!
Think of my excitement when a package from her arrived at my house yesterday! I ordered some Creative Memories stuff from her (I love scrapbooking) and the whole box was packed with extra love from her and her girls! The personal note made me smile. Jacque really knows me so well!
I told my husband it felt like Christmas! Actually, better, because I didn't get the scrapbooking supplies I had requested from my family for Christmas! Don't worry, hubby wasn't offended! He knows that is just how it goes sometimes!
Do you see the other thing that arrived in my mail yesterday that made me smile?
It's my Winter 2008 TOS!
The first thing I had to do was find my Bundled in Prayer AD!
There it is! Check out Page 167, if you are a subscriber!
Later, in the evening I sat down to flip through the magazine and enjoyed seeing many familiar names and faces... Jacque's name on page 33 and articles by Chickadeeand Christa (who's blogs I have enjoyed for a long time!) made me smile and nod with recognition!
I was also pleasantly surprised to see my own name on page 10! I had completely forgotten that Gena had mentioned she might publish the acrostic name poem I had emailed her after Susanna's birth! How fun to be "published"! (I was once published in Kym Wright's magazine "Open Arms" and it, too, was exciting, but I think this one was more so!)
ALSO...
I didn't take a picture, but I have to mention that last week I got an unexpected package in the mail from my friend, Julie, complete with pictures, a fun-filled letter (Julie's personality really comes through in her letters!) and two of the best jars of honey I have ever tasted! Yep! That's in the past tense! We used the last of the last night! (already)! We baked bread and muffins, we didn't just pull a POOH-BEAR maneuver! LOL!
I would like to try a new sort of meme... I may not be able to do it every week, but I want to start a FRIENDSHIP FRIDAY to tell about some of my dear friends that I have been blessed with over the years! Who will join me?
