Our Back Yard!
I love our backyard! I love it this time of year especially... not too hot, not too cold! I really enjoy throwing open the doors in the school room and looking out on our yard. I love to hear the children playing on the swings or on the trampoline. I love going out and gathering fresh produce from our garden (although our yield has never been great!)
Ahh! Can't you just smell the fresh air? Get outside today!

Dear Mrs. Brown -
I want to say thank you for your very encouraging comment on my Too Hard? post. I was very worried about having people come and tell me I was wrong and that I shouldn't write things like that because I am only 14 (almost 15, mind you,:). I feel very strongly about some things. I am planning on writing a whole lot more posts like this one, explaining what I believe. I just have not wanted to because I don't want my blog to be a controversial place.
I must agree with you - I, too, have been looking at my joys as duties and thinking of them as chores. We should really think about all of the joys that He has given us as joys, not as a duty to be fulfilled. We DO have duties to do around the house, but they CAN be turned into a joyful thing. I never thought about how He went joyfully to the Cross, and seeing it as a joy for Him to give Himself as the Ultimate Sacrifice for our sins, and it being a joy for Him to do. I think I will have to write a post about that! Thank you for bringing that to my mind.
Yes, we must place our trust in Him, and not worry about the morrow. There is a verse in the Bible about how if God can clothe and feed the sparrows, how much more so could He not take care of us. We really do need to think about how we, as Christians, and God being our Father, are serving Him, rather than serving ourselves by doing something. Whenever I say to myself, "I am cleaning the Lord's kitchen, and washing away the food that is on the plates for Him, as He washed my sins away," I am always cheerful about doing the dishes and cleaning the kitchen for the umteenth time.
I am SO GLAD that I, being as young as I am, could have encouraged you, dear Auntie Christina. I am also determined NOT to let the cares of this puny little world drag me down. I will pick up my cross and carry it throughout the day, as He did. I was so very much encouraged by your comment, and blessed by it. Thank you again.
Lovingly and Prayerfully,
Rachel

I love your backyard too. I can't keep my windows closed on these fall days. Even Lady Olivia noticed the change in the smell of the air.
Just thought I'd pop over for a visit. Such a nice place here.

If my backyard looked that inviting, I'd definitely be out in it. Unfortunately, we need to mow right now...
Loved the google post below...very creative!
