Wait Upon the Lord... ACTIVELY, NOT PASSIVELY!
This morning I was lying awake in bed very early in the morning. I kept thinking about how instead of losing weight (which, don't get me wrong, I am happy about!) I should be gigantically pregnant right now. Mara Serene would have been due in just a few weeks.
I thought about this long and empty wait. I thought about how heavy my arms feel when they are this empty.
The Lord began to speak to me about Waiting. All our lives we need to learn to wait. From the time we are impatient newborns we often start our lives screaming and demanding our own ways. As we mature we (hopefully) learn to wait.
We wait for our birthday. We wait for daddy to come home from work. We wait for our meals. We wait for school to get out.
As we mature even more we wait for our first kiss and hopefully delay it until the correct time. We wait to purchase our first home and furnish it patiently (hopefully) instead of going into debt financially and morally.
Each time we conceive we are made to wait 9 months to unwrap this wonderful little gift!
It has been over 2 years since hubby's reversal. It has been over 8 years since I last gave birth and yet, God says WAIT.
He knows what He is doing.
THEN, I began to hear scriptures in my heart about Waiting ON the Lord. Waiting to be renewed... being God's Lady-in-Waiting and I asked God how I could best spend this time of waiting.
If you are still with me on this LONG (perhaps rambling) post your wait will be rewarded with the BEST part of this story now:
This morning I got a PM from Stacy. (She said I could share this with you all):

I do not know why, but as I read your post in the thread about empty womb, I had this thought come to mind:
"but if you had a baby, what about all those precious afghans?!?"
It came to me over and over again in just a few short moments. All I can say is that it is meant to encourage you that while you may feel empty, the Lord has given you a gift during this time of waiting. It has been a gift of love and service that likely wouldn't have reached nearly as far if your arms had been holding a baby.
I know it is not the same, and it is probably not much comfort to you, but I believe this ministry is important. I wanted to share with you that you are bringing loving comfort to dozens of people, if not more. I haven't ever even seen one of your blankets IRL, but they comfort me by knowing that they have collectively represented MOMYS on more than one occasion.
((HUGS!!))

Wow! She was so right. The only part I disagreed with was the part where she said "it is probably not much comfort to you"... It is a HUGE comfort and a confirmation that while I wait I am not being useless, but that God can use this time.
I hope that this will encourage others who are in a patch of SILENCE... WAITING and WAITING and WAITING.
May we patiently wait on the LORD... not passively and impatiently, but actively SERVING HIM with joy and hope!

I am not sure if you remember me, but even though I have not been on in forever I always wondered if the reversal worked for you and your husband. I am sorry to hear of your miscarriage!! I will pray you will soon be able to carry a beautiful, healthy baby to term. its wonderful to see your blog again and see how much your children have grown!!

I haven't been on blogger for so long, I'm so out of the loop of all my old friends. But I'm trying to be back on more now.
I had no idea about your hubby's reversal! I pray for you that you conceive, and in God's time, and that while you wait your are being blessed and being a blessing as well!
Incidentally, Monday (probably "today" when you get this) I'll be 20 weeks along in my own pregnancy. We had been actively trying and praying for another baby for 63 months when we found out. It's my fourth, hubby's 5th (my stepson is his 1st). The others will be 21, 16, 11, and 7 shortly after this one's birth. I would love to have 2 close in age, but it doesn't seem to be God's current plan for my mommy-hood. But, to God be the glory! I'll likely not have 2 in college at the same time, nor will I likely have 2 weddings to plan at the same time! God is gracious!
My encouragement for you comes in Matthew 19:14, may you be lively and joyful like a child, "... for of such is the kingdom of heaven." Based on that, I wrote how women wanting more babies are like children at Christmas. If you think it might have some other encouragement, here's the linky: http://www.homeschoolblogger.com/Momwtrmn/653376/
Huuugs and blessings,
Christi

My name is Christina. I am 40 years old and have been happily married to my best friend, Russ for over 19 years! (It will be 20 in March 2010!) My username is quietcajun, but I am neither quiet, nor cajun! The nickname is based on my children's initials! The first four children are: Kaitlyn (17), Jordan (15 ), Ian (13.5), and Noah (11)... put their first intials together and you get KJIN (cajun). Sarah Hope is one of our babies in Heaven and Hannah (9) is my youngest (so far). Put S and H together and you get SH as in SHHHH... QUIET. Get it? Thus, quietcajun!
We are in our 13th year of homeschooling. We have tried public school, but we soon realized how important it is that they be HOME at all costs. Now we are back to having them all home again! It's not always easy, but it is for the BEST!
Two of our children have Asperger's Syndrome. That is an adventure in itself. We are still learning!
This blog is a place for me to sort out the daily joys and challenges of life as a mother and wife as I strive to love and know God more and bring GLORY to HIM in EVERY part of my LIFE!!!!
