The definition of pure religion is found in James 1:27
"Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world."
At first blush it may seem that this verse is about visiting those in need in the literal sense. While I believe being available and comforting is a start I believe that this verse is a command to meet the needs of the fatherless and widows. This is very dear to my heart.
I am thrilled about a new ministry, called GLEANING the HARVEST, that givesthe opportunity to meet families and do something about it! I would ask that if you can give a little bit here and there to do so and if you cannot... then please at least get the word out by adding icons to your blog and blogging about this wonderful ministry!
