A Rainy Wednesday in May

Today was pretty productive, so far.

Even though yesterday ended with a full force headache (almost to the level that I'd call it a migraine) I feel pretty good today! I did finally give in and take Excedrin PM around 6 last night.  I managed to finish the ironing after dinner, made up a pan of baked oatmeal for today's breakfast and went to bed early.

I woke up at about 6:45 AM...  whew...  just in time!  I put the baked oatmeal in the oven, took a walk around the lake with Tanya G., talked to Tanya F. on the phone, showered, ate, and started school with the children.

It's now 3:30 and the laundry is washed and dried (needs to be folded and put away... gotta set the children to work on that task), all of the schoolwork I planned for today is done and most of it is graded, and I've answered emails, checked over the bills, etc.

I already put tomorrow's lesson plans up on the dry-erase board in the school room.

Let's see, here's what I'd LIKE to accomplish with the rest of this day:

T-Tapp (Exercise)

Make Dinner (and clean up dinner mess, of course)

Have children clean up school room

Vaccuum the downstairs (or have Kait do it)

Have children fold and put away laundry

Iron whatever needs it from today's laundry

Go to Sarahlee's Honor Star Crowning at church

Crochet a little before bedtime and maybe read a chapter of Sixth Covenant if I'm not too sleepy!

It's a drizzly, chilly day, but the colors of the sky and the grass are so vivid and beautiful today that I almost don't mind the sunshine's shyness! I just praise the Lord that His World is so full of marvelous things and that even on a day that ought to be gloomy and dreary He reveals Himself in all sorts of amazing ways!

I pray that your day is surprisingly cheery too!

Busy day! Well done! Any more these days I feel like just getting the kids through 4 subjects and getting a shower for myself with dishes done is an accomplishment. LOL. Just 2.5 months to go, then bambino will be here! ^_^

I'm looking forward to learning about EC. I'm heading now over to your friend's site to see if she's written about it. Thanks for the heads-up, friend!

Jun. 20, 2009 - Hey there!

Hi, this is Cassandra- remember me? = ) We moved seven months ago into the church parsonage, (Which is a beautiful house right by the church- we love it!) and we were without internet until last week. I thought I would check up on your life. It sounds like you are doing well! I also wanted to let you know that my daughter Chloe *loves* the blanket that you made her when she was born. She just turned two, and the afghan that you made for her is *her* blankie. She won't go to sleep without it, and she carries it around the entire house. It's one that I would like to see stay nice, since it is beautiful, and it was made with love, but I can't bring myself to take it away! She loves it. I will always see that blanket and think back to the special person that made it for her. It is so lovely. I will have a special story to tell her when she is older- if it is still intact by then! Even though she has it constantly, it is holding up very well. I just thought you might like that story! have a great Day! ~Cassandra

My name is Christina. I am 40 years old and have been happily married to my best friend, Russ for over 19 years! (It will be 20 in March 2010!) My username is quietcajun, but I am neither quiet, nor cajun! The nickname is based on my children's initials! The first four children are: Kaitlyn (17), Jordan (15 ), Ian (13.5), and Noah (11)... put their first intials together and you get KJIN (cajun). Sarah Hope is one of our babies in Heaven and Hannah (9) is my youngest (so far). Put S and H together and you get SH as in SHHHH... QUIET. Get it? Thus, quietcajun! We are in our 13th year of homeschooling. We have tried public school, but we soon realized how important it is that they be HOME at all costs. Now we are back to having them all home again! It's not always easy, but it is for the BEST! Two of our children have Asperger's Syndrome. That is an adventure in itself. We are still learning! This blog is a place for me to sort out the daily joys and challenges of life as a mother and wife as I strive to love and know God more and bring GLORY to HIM in EVERY part of my LIFE!!!!
