We are nearing the summit of Mount Never-Rest and the view is spectacularly breath-taking! I am nearly moved to tears!
I survey the surroundings with joy! An empty and quiet washing machine on my left, two (YES TWO) happily humming dryers on my right and wedged in between an empty laundry hamper (except for that one stray white sock hiding in there!)
In my room, at the foot of my bed there is a large basket of neatly folded clothes. On my bed there is a large pile of unfolded clothes and in my closet there is a medium pile of unironed clothes! Not toooo bad!
But then, of course, there is the clothing my children are wearing right now! They INSIST on wearing clothes. I need to buy a copy of Dare to Discipline for myself (and one for JenIg who cannot make her obviously strong-willed firstborn stay 16!) so I can learn how to make them stop!!!!
On a side note... we (my dh and I) went to a prime rib banquet last night. It was yummy and we had a lot of fun. They set up a game of "Family Feud" and I was the captain of the women's team. We all won a $5 gift card for The Beanery (a local coffee stand). I gave mine to a friend of mine, because I don't drink coffee and I get my chai teas at Allyn Towne (another coffee stand right by my house!)
I wasn't sure if I would have fun b/c I was feeling discouraged after a friend of mine called earlier in the day to tell me that she and her husband are having some problems. I think that they are doing better today and are receiving Godly counsel to head them in the right direction. It was hard to put my sadness aside and enjoy the evening, but I kept thinking of how many nice things I had read here on HSB yesterday and that made me feel uplifted and encouraged. Now if I can only get some of you to do my laundry for me... I'd be all set!
Actually, I don't mind laundry. Clean laundry is my favorite smell in the world. (I even have a Yankee Clean Cotton candle and I always stand inhaling the scent of Downy coming from the dryer vent at my friend's house!) But I HATE, HATE, HATE to cook. So, I have to get some of you to cook for me, I think. OOOH! Better yet... JenIg... as a punishment to Coie for turning 16 you can send her to reform school! Yep... I just opened a reform school, here in my home. I have opening for one Igarashi! She can do all my cooking for one month. Or better yet, she can do once a month cooking everyday for 12 days and I will have a freezer stocked full enough to last me until she relapses and insists on turning 18 next year!!!!
Okay, I'm off to fold and put away laundry!
