Today is living room day!

In the back you can see the counter over the kitchen... with my snowman cookie jar! (A gift from Jim and Jan!) The ledge up above that has my Anne of Green Gables doll and a few other knick knacks. The shelf in the corner holds photos and albums. The shelf on which you can see green, red and gray books is my scrapbook album shelf. That black thing in the corner is my scrapbooking suitcase! It is really supposed to be downstairs in my sewing room!
In the right corner of the photo is the entryway hall. Behind the couch would be the breakfast nook. (On the left) and directly behind the couch is the French Doors. To the right of this photo is the Entertainment Center. The little knob you can see on the right side of the photo is on the Entertainment Center and hanging on it is a craft foam snowman made by Jordan!
The couch was purchased by my neighbor for his downstairs, but after a while he realized no one ever used it and sold it to us for half of what he paid for it! It still had the tags on it! AND he threw in the "desk" and "bookshelves" that I have in my Master Bedroom! (no extra charge!) Almost every piece of furniture in my house has a story like that behind it... The shelf that was cracked and we got a big discount and my husband fixed it... the entertainment center that we got from a store that was overstocked from another store that they bought out... etc. God is so amazingly faithful!
The handsome man on the couch is my prince charming, Russ! (ignore the PJs... he would probably be mortified if he knew, but since all of you love pjs as evidenced by your own posts... I figured it would be okay!)

This is Jordan's MAP ROOM. He loves geography as well as electronics, computers, numbers, facts and figures. He would WAY rather read an owner's manual to ANYTHING, than read a novel! This picture was taken in the door way of his room with the doorway to the Master Bedroom on my left, the stair way just next to this room on the right and next to that the door leading out to the garage. Behind me would be the breakfast nook.

Same room.. facing the loft bed. He sleeps on the top bunk. You can see in this photo the desk and dresser. Behind the bed (on either side) is a storage closet area and underneath is a trundle drawer, but we don't have a mattress for it yet. From this vantage point FACING the desk/bed, the door is on the left, the map mural would be directly behind you, the window on the right all the way down at the end of this long, narrow room and the closet is just beyond the mural on the right.
This room was designed to be a bathroom/laundry room and the stairway which is just beyond it (the closet of this room is over the stairway) was not meant to be there on the original blueprint. The stairway would have been a long narrow office/study with no closet. We deleted that bathroom/laundry room since there is one in the added downstairs and shaved a bit off of our Master Closet to make this room a little bigger, but it is still a funny shape. The all-in-one piece of furniture has made it very functional though!
Tomorrow, I will post pictures from the OTHER side of the living room... Ian and Noah's room and their lighthouse bathroom.
I have not yet taken pictures of the downstairs... maybe next week!
