The Slash Room
The reason I call this the slash room is simple... it is the School Room/Library/Office/Play Room... I love combo rooms like that... notice we also have the Fishy Bathroom that is a / (read: slash) utility room... I could also call it a /storage area!

This picture was taken from the door way of the sewing room/guest room (another "slash" room). The doorway at the end of this room leads into the excercise room. You can see the new bench seat in the window area in the left corner of this photo... That bay type window is directly below the bay type window in the breakfast nook upstairs... There are also some pretty french doors directly below the upstairs living room set.. those doors would be to your left just before the keyboard in this photo. To your right is the computer desk (office area) and just out of view where the little white canvas tote bag is sitting on the floor is the weird storage area (more about that later). To the right of the open door in this photo is another door... that is the storage closet under the stairs that the boys call their "secret lab" or their "rocket ship". (more about that later also!)
okay... here is the WEIRD STORAGE AREA:

This is under the house and there is actually dirt in here... that is why I think it is weird! I put some shelves in here so I could store stuff in here.
Here is the "secret lab":
You want "signs of life"? I almost never clean up this closet. They pile boxes and build space ships, etc. This is how it usually looks too... little flourescent dinosaurs on the floor, pillows, wooden swords, dress-up clothes, etc.! My children think it is hilarious that I am posting a picture of a messy room!

Let's take a tour of the school room/whatever room!

The sewing room is to the left of this photo and the keyboard and bench are to the right. The door to the weird storage area is directly behind you. See my little Quimby dog looking out over the back yard? Like the cat stickers on the French doors? My 5 year old likes to "decorate"!
The bulletin board on the left has a dry-erase calendar on it and some artwork by Kaitlyn.

Slide down just a bit...now the french doors are on the left. The key board is sitting on a cart of junk because the stand for it has been broken nfor years. The bench seat is still in progress as you can proabably tell. I need to actually cut and sew the fabric instead of just spread it over the foam! LOL! My dh built this bench for me in October! I love it! When I ever finish the cushions I will post new pictures of it!

If you were to turn around... here is the computer desk a.k.a office area! The door to the weird storage area is on the left, the French doors are on the right and the door in the photo leads to the sewing room/guest room. This computer is the source of most of my blogging! The pictures on the wall are copies of Norman Rockwell's "The Four Freedoms".
Next time I will add sewing room photos. Did I do the garage yet? I guess I will do that too!

Your house is huge! How many square feet do you have? I'm a wee bit jealous.
I saw on momys digest something about no waiting list for reversal help. I think on blessed arrows? Which kind are you saving for? I think it was vas reversals and total funding. They also help with the other kind. ;0)

Posted by quietcajun
Blessed Arrows pays up to 2000 for vasectomy reversals... the running price around her is close to 6000. I feel funny about requesting house since we have a nice house. Does that sound silly? We really did get an great deal on this house, and really could use the help saving up for the reversal, and we made do with a too small house for years and years... but I still sometimes feel guilty that God has given us so much. (that is one of the reasons I do not want to move to Hawaii or New Hampshire or wherver the Navy plans to send us next b/c I know we will never have such a great place again and I am trying to remind myself that it so does not matter!)
Anyway, it is 3200 square feet in a sweet neighborhood with very nice neighbors. We have been here almost 2 years now. It really is my dream house.

and I love your little closet. My girls love little cubbies like that. They would have a ball in there. Yours is clean compared to what mine would be.
