Here? I'm here. Somewhere. :)
We have just recovered from a MAJOR computer repair. Our system crashed and burned a couple of weeks ago. We had a black screen of death situation. It was quite troubling. DH spent most nights for a week trying to resurrect our "old girl". I'm so thankful for hubby's job as a computer programmer it means he has some connections and we were able to get back up and running with some leftover parts (they literally were going to toss or sell these parts) from the office. It ended up being a video card issue (do I sound like I know what I'm talking about?).
I felt so bad for hubby. I am absolutely no help to him in these matters. All I could do was cheer him on as I walked by to go watch some Elizabeth Gaskell (BBC Costume Dramas). It was tough. I was reminded during the whole affair of hanging out in the garage and watching my dad rebuild car engines. I was of little help then but it was something to do and sometimes he let me push on the brakes or hold a light. Actually, I probably know more about car engines than I do computers. It makes me conversant but useless in a machine shop.
I am thankful for the men in my life who care for the things that make my life easier. I'm so glad I don't have to buy a "new" something every time something breaks.
So, I am here and slowly catching-up with my online world. We still haven't resolved the photo issues. Hopefully we can get to that soon.
