Quinn's Adventures In Real World Schooling

• Friday, March 16, 2007 - Egyptian Mummy

This is King Fruitenkhamen. He is my mummy. First I carved his face and then I took his organs out. That is what Egyptians did with their mummies. They left the mummy covered  for forty days. They covered mummies with linen strips. Then they uncovered them and washed them again. Then they covered them again. I will wrap my mummy soon. Right now he is covered in natron which is a mixture of salt and soda. It makes him dry out.  We also put spices on him to make him smell nice. Egyptians used to do that too. Dad says my mummy is GROSS! I like him though. He is cute.

We are homeschoolers too. We are Francis & Marcus, we are brothers. We like to read about Egyptians and mummies too. We hope to one day visit Egypt.

Have a nice day!
